As you many of you probably have heard by now: Paula Deen used the N-word and it has caused tons if people to be very angry with her. And by people, I mean a handful of execs at Food Network.
Now many of you may think "But CurseSealofEarth, it's not right to use such words! All people are equal no matter what race they are!" Oh I agree, I think it's awful that that word has any power at all in today's world. But Paula Deen didn't say the N-word on the air, or in an interview or even on a camera phone. No she didn't even say it this CENTURY! Deen said the n-word when referring to a man that had a GUN TO HER HEAD in 1967 when she worked at a bank.
I feel like you shouldn't be blamed for something you said after being traumatized by a man holding a gun to your head. Hell you'll say all kinds of things when you're life's in danger. "Help! Come save me cops! Oh God...I just pissed all over myself! I'm gonna die!"
This is one of those instances that having a Moderator for Real Life would have been useful. You know, bumping a dead topic and what not.
Wouldn't that be such a great thing? Like the news team that brought this up would get an infraction and you get so many before you can't bring news up anymore. Fun idea.
But how do you feel about this?
P.S. I would post a link to the news story but I'm on my phone and it's a *****.
