Apparently, Paul Walker's daughter is filling a lawsuit against Porsche claiming it lacked safety features that could have prevented the death of Paul Walker and Roger Rodas. I feel sorry for her and everything but they were driving way to fast on a public road and you cant't blame the car manufacturer for the driver's decisions.

That's like blaming McDonalds for making you fat lol
And why wait like 2 years to file a suit?

Well court will let her know whether she can blame them or not...

Not condoning reckless driving and I'm hazy on the events. But Porsche did have a recall on some of their engines because they would catch on fire due to faulty components. I've seen many wrecks at the track and strip, and some (not so much though) on my daily commute, but a car doesn't burst into flames that fast. Yes the crash could have could have caused a fire, but the bad engine could have made the fire worse and not give enough time for Walker and his driver to get out or emergency personnel to get them out. I can't remember if it was the impact of the crash that killed them or the fire. But the crash is their fault, the fire, if it's one of the Porsche models that was to be recalled, then Porsche shares the blame. Not all but to some small degree.

Probably. If they didn't have anything to blame the company they wouldn't be suing. But it still seems like a waste of money on lawyers. Unless they will be paid only if they win the case.

I'm not saying that she should or shouldn't sue or if it's right or wrong. Just that she does have a reason. And with Volkswagon, who owns Porsche, is going through some legal drama beginning last week with some of their cars cheating the emissions test. This is a good time to file a lawsuit against them. FYI, Volkswagon has set aside 7 Billion dollars because of their emissions cheating cars. About 37,000 dollars per car.

I agree with that part- they charge money in name of safety measures and quality. So yeah if her lawyers have collected enough evidence to suggest that car shouldn't have caught fire at the impact they have a prima facie case. Rest will depend on the counter arguments etc.

Yes and there is also a speed limit

You must be registered for see images
That's concern of traffic police. They can issue a ticket. The company still made a car which could go at that high speed and if they the suggested it could sustain in case of accident and wouldn't burst in flames they are responsible. They charge for those safety measures in cash, when they sell their product. So it would depend on what company has to say and exactly what's the basis of the suit. It could be decided that it was driver's fault only. It may come down to who was at greater fault. Company still may have to do something about it's model even if it wins.
