part 1 by leaps and bounds. all that training all that team work to take down stronger opponents. all that showcasing of the other teams. and you know what the absolute best part about part 1 was? NO F*CKING AS*SPULL POWER UPS!!!! everything the did in part 1 was the result of some training that we got to see. it was all explainable as to how and why they could do this and that. in fact i don't think naruto had any plot holes until part 2 came along

Part 1 but part 2 had some arcs that were equal imo. Like pain arc, jiraiya the gallant, and Itachi pursuit/battle.
