Part 1
- Having Naruto as the underdog and seeing his growth
- Focuses in on Konoha XI. Good character development for all
- Epic battles. Some may argue that part 1 is where the "real ninja" battles happen. Tactics, speed, stealth, weaponry etc..
- Chunin Exams. Probably self explanatory.
- Villains brought a sense of fear to the stage, mainly because the main characters were powerless. Orochumaru's presence was scary. Itachi's arrival to Konoha with Kisame was also cool
- Great soundtrack
- Lots of emotion, especially in Sasuke retrieval arc
- Very funny, both in canon and filler episodes. However fillers are more to the side of the actual plot
Part 2
- Naruto's not really the underdog anymore
- More of an epic scale. Expansion of the Naruto world and more involvement from other villages = more characters
- Greater move-set from characters so more development there. Rasengan is still spammed a lot but Naruto has a lot more moves now
- Characters have matured
- More introduction to Konoha's history and background information through Uchiha/Senju
- More villains
- Less involvement of K11 though throughout
- Battles have a wider range of moves and techniques, but there's less stealth now, so less of a 'ninja' feel
- Still a few jokes but overall probably less funny than part 1. Then again, there's a war going on right now so no time for comedy...
- A lot more perspective as to what character's ideals are, although some ideals are questionable
- Good soundtrack as well
- Fillers are more relevant to plot
These are just a few pros/cons that I thought of...
Thoughts? Does the original Naruto take this, or is Shippuden a vast improvement? Or is it just too tough to call?
