But Naruto beat Kabuto after he was training for the Rasengan so Naruto wasn't even at full strength. And did he help Jiraiya fight Orochimaru before or after he beat Kabuto?

I think it was after the Kabuto fight. And Kabuto had just finished fighting Tsuande so they both weren't in peak form. and true, plus he wasn't using the Kyubi chakra either. But like I said, Kabuto underestimated him. If he had been fighting Naruto as seriously as he was fighting Tsunade, then the fight may have called for Naruto to use that Kyuubi chakra then well, Naruto may have won then as well. again A win's a win so it still goes to Naruto.

The only thing we can say for certain is that they were around the same level back then. We aren't sure who was actually stronger, but they were close.

Personally, I would say that part 1 Kakashi slightly edged out part 1 Kabuto because Kakashi had a lot more feats under his belt to go by while Kabuto was kept relatively low key.

But Kabuto not getting as much panel time isn't his fault nor is it exactly proof of him being inferior, so I don't see anything wrong with you having a different opinion

I don't know, Kishi established that in the manga but the Databooks make Kakashi much stronger then Kabuto (and databook doesn't count special abilities, so it doesn't count the sharingan)

Honestly it was just his medical ninjutsu that made him dangerous and made him capable of taking on kakashi, other than that I honestly dont know how part 1 kakashi loses to part 1 kabuto... Kishi shud of clarified it more.

People can be on the same general level without operating in the same sphere. Kabuto was considered to be on Kakashi's level because of his skills and the dangerosity of his medical ninjutsu.

Not to mention Jiraya and Orochimaru were basing their facts on what they actually knew from Kakashi, which means since the period they left the village around 12years before when Kakashi was 15(roughly) since they had actually no way to know part1 Kakashi's level without having being in the village for that long. Orochimaru himself who mentioned it was surprised Kakashi could use fuinjutsus when he sealed his Curse Seal, showing that Kakashi's true potential was unknown by him

Furthermore on Kakashi's own admission, he was out of shape in part1 because he laid-back a lot, not going in dangerous missions in the past years while enjoying peace to the point he needed to open the first gate just to complete a cliff-climbing that he easily used to complete just as a warm-up
