I also agree that kishi rushed part two .his focus was only on akatsuki .part 2 could have been more interesting if he had included many more side arcs like in anine gaurdian shinobi 12 arc and three tails arc
Pretty much. Tobirama and Minato made a brilliant combo and Naruto advanced his thinking by just looking at Gamabunta's attack at Juubito. In seconds he analyzed that only SM attacks would work against Obito.
Part 2 obviously because naruto is really getting epic by the week part 2 is my fave but I still like part one because it has something we don't see a lot of and that's comedy
In part 2 there kind stepping up there game and that makes it less funny but I still like it better than the 1 part=D
Haha there has to be a power increase in the Naruto series...makes it more interesting and shows development. But I see where you're coming from...Naruto seemed kinda fast especially since it happened in 2/3 years
The power increase is ridiculous. I think the main problem is that aside from the chosen few all most all characters are literally featless,
like the Raikage that only has one measly Jutsu. The power increase is all wrong, it should be more like Hiruzen or Tobirama - inventing or learning new Jutsu and training to be stronger

Part 2 is definitely better , but up to the Pain arc , after that it kinda went downhill for me , ups & downs but mostly downs for me after the pain arc .
It's a very hard decision to make, but I personally liked Part 1 better. It just had that feeling of awe every time a new enemy popped up. It's not that I didn't get that feeling in Part 2... Part 1 just seemed to have a lot more "Oh, wow! Look at this skill!" sort of stuff.
Part 2 all the way, part 1 was little bit childish, but part 2 became really mature at everything that sometimes, most times, kids don't get it. Like you don't get it that tactics and everything is still being used.
a bit torn between the two, but i'll say part two due to the story progression, the only prob is that kishi didn't focus on the K11.
but i bet every one like it when the main character shows "epic" powers U_U
it was foreshadowed in chapter 1, the fact that this demon is inside Naruto made it even more obvious that he'll one day control it. I don't get how anyone can be surprised by the power scale jump.
I prefer part 1, he was an underdog and no-one knew his true powers (except a few). When he fought Neji I really felt like I was fighting with him. The Chuunin Exam had the best fights; Lee vs Gaara, Sasuke vs Gaara, Naruto vs Neji etc... But then it went downhill, all the fillers, pointless fights, Naruto that falls in love with Sasuke...
In Part 1, more characters got screen time and I love the Chunin exams arc, but I prefer part 2. Naruto and Sakura, especially the latter, are really annoying in Part 1. Plus, in Part 2 a lot of characters I really like come into play. So, I prefer part 2.
Wow, an objective thread from you for once. That's a change.
I have very few criticisms for part one.
1) It would have been nice to have Shino and the Kunoichis in the rescue Sasuke arc as well as possibly a few more sound ninjas.
2) Since Sasuke had already learned an element, I think it would have been nice if Jiraiya had also taught an element to Naruto.
3) I would have liked Baki and Genma to fight each other and for them to be pivotal to the plot in both the first and second half.
4) I would have given Sakura a clan and special technique.
I have a few more for part 2
1) The biggest criticism I have is most of the K11 being cut from the plot throughout shippuuden. I believe that if Orochimaru had survived longer, or at least his faction led by Kabuto, that could have fixed it, as well as each of he Akatsuki having either subordinates or three man squads. Most of this could have been done in the Sasori/Deidara, Sai, Hidan/Kakuzu arcs as well as the Pein arc.
2) I would have kept the Pein avatars alive except for maybe Yahiko and developed them into characters.
3) I would have developed Hidan's backstory, techniques and extended his fights, which Kishimoto was forced to cut by his publishers and editors.
4) I would have given Naruto a legendary weapon to parallel Sasuke's Kusanagi.
5) I would have eventually shown Sasuke's training with Orochimaru, development of his Chidori and Sharingan and obtaining his Kusanagi rather than leaving it off panel/screen.
6) I would have had Konan fight most or all the chuunin kunoichis and possibly had her kill one or two. This scenario was actually shown in an anime opening.
7) Obito has grown on me and I believe he was well-foreshadowed, although I believe he being either Naruto or Sasuke from the future , Shisui or Fugaku would have been a great twist as well.
8) I would have had Killer Bee teach Naruto swordsmanship.
9) I would have given the seven swordsmen of the mist their own arc in the war and made them pivotal to the plot. Giving them Akatsuki level abilities and fights, having Sasuke and Taka fighting them and Mangetsu combining all the swords into one and revealing it was Hagoromo's, which Obito would have then preceded to steal.
10) I would have made edo hanzo and sasori far more formidable as well and given Mu, Chiyo and Kimimaro closure fights.
11) I would have had Naruto and Sasuke invent their own jutsus from scratch like Kakashi and Minato.
