[Nin] Paper Ninjustsu with Akasha

Konan stands idly by a tree, her Akatsuki robe barely moving with the wind. Her eyes are low and focused on the shifting grass. She is waiting for the person who will teach her the ways of Paper Ninjutsu.

Finally! My favorite field. For now, let's start with the very basics; what do you know about paper ninjutsu?

 

[Chihaya]

Konan's eyes shift up as she takes very little time to think,

"Paper Ninjutsu is when the user utilizes paper in ways to attack, defend and so on. The user molds and uses their chakra to form into pieces of paper. Then, they can manipulate the paper in a variety of ways. Paper Ninjutsu can be quite durable as water is nearly useless against it. Paper Ninjutsu can even overpower certain fire techniques. If the user kneads their chakra with the paper, the sheets of paper can become very sharp or even as hard as steel. If skilled, Paper Ninjusu can be used with explosive tags. Oil, which is thick, can be a big problem for Paper Ninjutsu."

Firstly read through this and then we are gonna start. Ask me any questions if you do have some!!!!!!

Paper ninjutsu is style of fighting that was only seen using by Konan and that was originally made by her. Paper ninjutsu works in such a way that you infuse your chakra into paper sheets and then use them to your advantage. By infusing chakra into paper you can control that little paper how you like, in a very creative yet deadly way. Even though using paper as a fighting weapon sounds very foolish at first and doesn't look so intimidating, it is very durable to many things that may be declared as its weaknesses. This type of ninjutsu allows user to even convert their whole or parts of bodies into paper itself making user non vulnerable to any type of taijutsu attacks because any kind of physical attack will just go trough body of user. Another great thing is that the rapidness,speed as well as strength of paper that are caused by excellent control of it represent a great defense from fairly strong Fire techniques making paper neutral to fire. User of paper ninjutsu is able to make paper so sharp that it is able to cut through rocks making it also neutral to Earth Release. Paper ninjutsu is strong against Lighting Release because lighting can't be infused into paper which means that paper is a great insulator. Paper ninjutsu techniques,like every existing techniques,have weaknesses. One of them are liquid-based techniques, like Water Release and techniques based on oil,because they make paper heavier,wetter and unable to control. Although this is weakness of paper ninjutsu,in manga as well as anime we saw Konan using it to her advantage. She purposely made her paper to soak water and in that way used wet paper to help her defend from fire although in our RP Paper ninjutsu is neutral to Fire Release. One more thing that we saw in manga is that Konan used water to wash the oil off of her. That happened when Jiraiya used oil based technique on her completely stopping her movement. In that situation water helped her to wash the oil off of her,allowing her to move freely again. One more weakness of Paper Ninjutsu techniques is Wind Release because wind is able to cut right trough paper. One more advantage of paper and why it is so good is that you are able to use explosive tags instead of paper,which are going to explode when they come in contact with opponent causing serious damage. In the manga we saw Konan greatly using this ability to stun her opponents. She would mix explosive tags with her clones to make them rush towards her opponents and surprise them. Also we saw her combining it so well that she was able to stop Obito from transporting himself and even making such a strong shinobi as Obito to lose one of his hands and almost his life.

Okay, I read it all and understand a lot more clearly. Wind happens to be my favorite element, so I'm curious. Is there anyway Paper Ninjutsu can over power wind or certain wind techs? Like we once vaguely talked about.. Making the paper more sturdy or hard?

 

[Akasha]

The thing is, for something like that to be possible one would have to create custom techniques; I have a custom technique which essentially infuses paper with elemental chakra. You have to keep in mind, that no matter what certain elements just can't be infused into paper due to its nature. If you were to be able to make a custom which will enable you something like that what do you think which elements you'd say that would in no case be able to be infused within paper sheets?

 

[Chihaya]

I would assume water wouldn't be able to be infused with the paper because it only makes the paper wet, heavier and harder to control. I'm not completely sure about my answer though...

 

[Akasha]

What about lightning?

 

[Chihaya]

Well, paper conducts lightning very well. So I was assuming that lightning could be played off of paper, but maybe that's impossible, I'm not sure. If not, then maybe infusing lightning into paper is useless because it conducts it and would just balance it out and nothing would happen.

 

[Akasha]

Let's get back few posts back. I noted that paper is great insulator of lighting, so how can it be a good conductor simultaneously?

 

[Chihaya]

Oh, my bad. It makes sense now. In a conductor, the lightning can flow freely, but in insulators they cannot. And paper is an insulator, so it resists the flow of the lightning and just insulates it. Right?

 

[Akasha]

That's correct Hence why you can't really infuse paper with lighting chakra, it will not conduct it. You will notice that as we learn techniques, there will be some which can only be performed upon using Shikigami no Mai, which essentially converts complete body of paper user to that of paper. However we will learn that technique later on. Keep in mind however, that at all times, body of a paper user is encompassed with paper hence can use paper from their body to perform techniques. The first technique is somewhat basic and will allow user to upon infusing paper with chakra further manipulate it to construct differing animal shaped creations. Depending on their size, will depend the chakra cost;

Smaller animals = 10 chakra points and being capable of making up to 15 [up to the size of cats]
Medium sized animals = 15 chakra points and being capable of making up to 10 [up to the size of a lion]
Larger animals = 20 chakra points and being capable of making up to 5 [up to the size of an elephant]

Now; perform the technique and tell me if you think there is anything worth mentioning when it comes to this technique.

(Origami No Jutsu) - Paper Folding Technique

Konan's face is as calm as her blue colored eye shadow. She now knows a lot about Paper Ninjutsu and plans to nail this technique her first try. With no hesitation, she swings her arm forward just as a habit. There is no handseals performed and averaged sized sheets of paper peel from her body and creates five small cats, each different in shape. They run and leap in all different directions as Konan commands them. A strange feeling of satisfaction emerges from within Konan but she does not allow a smile to form.

In this technique there are no handseals and the description is so vague I almost felt like I may of been missing something, haha. I assume the user can create large and small animals in combination? I like that it's not restricting any certain animal, so anything can be created as long as you match the sizes. The Chakra cost is not much, even for a large animal. However, like every element and technique, D ranks are low in power and prove to get ignored and never used. But I'm sure many customs have been based off this technique and so forth.

 

[Akasha]

Yes, however you will always be drained the amount of chakra needed for the biggest animal, and their number will be proportioned to the number allowed for the biggest sized animal. Yeah, you are correct Let's get going onto the next technique. To be honest this is one D ranked technique that I think you might find useful from time to time. User would gather required amount of chakra and infuse it within a few paper sheets before manipulating the chakra and folding the paper in into up to three shurikens which they can further send forth.

(Kami Shuriken Jutsu) - Paper Shuriken Technique

As Konan raises her arms, she feels the paper peel from her body, taking some of her chakra with them. Multiple pieces of paper form into three sturdy shurikens and with no hesitation, she sends them forth. They cut through the air and lodge into the bark of a nearby tree.

It's unfortunate that the range is short. However, it's quite handy that the shuriken are better than normal ones. It's pretty self explanatory. I really do like the no handseal trait to these techniques.

 

[Akasha]

Good; yes! Let's get going onto the last technique of D ranks. It is a substitution technique. It lets the user to disperse into a spinning column of paper sheets and appear anywhere else on the battlefield. Because this is a substitution technique, you are only able to use it only once per match.

Konan releases herself into a swarm of paper in which spin like a tornado. The papers go round and round until Konan is completely gone. She then appears on the other side of the battle field with a stumble, a couple of papers flailing at her arrival.

I'm glad this is long ranged and again no hand seals. Can this be used to dodge attacks, like if a raging fire ball was shot at her?

 

[Akasha]

It's a substitution, so in general yes you can escape, however such would also depend on the situation at which you are and similar. And about no hands seals, no techniques of paper ninjutsu require you to actually use hand seals for their performance. That's honestly a great plus. Let's get going onto the next technique. This first one is a clone technique and essentially it allows user to, by infusing chakra into paper sheets shape a complete replica of themselves. The clone can act and react on its own, however can also be controlled if the situation calls for it. The formed cone is able to use Paper Ninjutsu techniques. Usable thing about this clone is that once it is hit, it will just collapse into sheets of paper which will then give you opportunity to use them further for other paper ninjutsu technique unless they have been disintegrated. One more thing that is important to be mentioned is that you are able to mix explosive tags with normal paper and send your clone running towards the opponent. Once the clone gets in contact with opponent or is hit, it will create an explosion which, depending on where explosion is made, can make serious damage.

(Kami Bunshin no Jutsu) - Paper Clone Technique

Description: This jutsu takes advantage of Konan's ability to create and manipulate paper. By infusing her chakra into paper, she can shape the paper into a perfect replica of herself that she can control remotely. When the clone is hit or disperses, it merely collapses back into sheets of paper. Konan can conceal exploding tags in the paper clones as well and have them explode infront of the target. These clones can only use Paper techniques.

Konan feels her chakra seeping into the sheets of paper within her. With little else to do, she concentrates and shapes the paper she releases into a clone that mirrors her. She sends it forth and has it create a tiny cat in which leaps into a tree. She looks at her two creations with satisfaction. For a little while, Konan just stares at her other self in deep thought.

I indeed like this clone technique more than the average clones. It sort of reminds me of water clones, cause as they disperse, you can play off their water if the time is right. The exploding tags are a plus, I'll learn them eventually and use it to my advantage in these situations xD But I can see water ruining this technique as water would render the paper useless?

 

[Akasha]

Yes, water would easily ruin this technique. Explosive tags you get passively. Everyone can use them. Some techniques (I will check if this is applicable to all techniques) of paper can use explosive tags for their performance. It is certain you can use them with techniques which note the same. Keep in mind that the technique, body of paper does no exist, hence for every technique which notes that technique, you can just passively use paper from your body. This next one is pretty neat and essentially user would upon infusing chakra within paper sheets turn them into butterflies. They can keep on dispersing and reforming their body in a 3 turns span.
