When this ability is applied to flammable or explosive substances, the imbued katon chakra will instead ignite them in order to coat them in a layer of flames or result in a momentary explosive maelstrom of fire due to their detonation. Of course, this cannot be applied to things which aren't solid in composition nor those which are already molten such as Lava. Activating this ability is instant and does not consume any time whatsoever. The reason this technique's activation is instant is because stand alone it does not do anything and its effects are only initiated when the user utilizes another advanced elemental jutsu which includes Earth and Fire in its make up.
