i think those summons are dead, just like the six paths, what would support my theory is in the form of this question, what would be the reason for the chakra rods and rinnegan in their eye?

Yes, they are most certainly dead. Remember, the original Paths were all shinobi from Jiraiya's past. Shinobi he only briefly met years and years ago, and from whom he learned all of his valuable lessons about the way the world works. Not sure how Naga to was able to track down people he had no way of even knowing existed, but whatever. Point is, they are ideas bodies, being controlled by the chakra rod piercings everywhere.

Remember, he specifically stated how Yahiko died, and why he brought him back.

OT: Nagato's summon must have been dead, I think that's why he was able to incorporate his field of vision with his summons.
