Just watched the part where Nagato awakens his Rinnegan and i noted something that may be of importance.

He said "hatred was driving him crazy" as soon as it was awakened. He felt more hatred with the Rinnegan than he had felt without it. Meaning that the Sharingan itself is the source of the Uchiha curse.

For those that diden't know. Rinnegans is Sharingan's final form as stated in the manga.

Nagato was an Uzumaki not an Uchiha. But when he activated his Rinnegan (given to him by Tobi apperantly) it seems that he got affected by the Uchiha's hatred curse just by having their eyes.

Your saying the sharingan itself is what rove the Uchiha to rebel?
Well if Juubi has eye dojutsu (possibly)
and juubi = evil
Then I guess it may be possible.

Nagato already had the rinnegan when that happened he just used it for the first time there.

Maybe. But him stating hatred was driving him crazy seconds after awakening the most powerful uchiha dojutsu just cant be a coincidence.

The word hatred is brought up pretty much everytime Uchiha and Senju are brought up. So there is definitely more to it than just Uchihas being mad all the time.
