Pain/Nagato did NOT have his 6 paths, while itachi had two jinchurikis beside him.

Don't get it twisted, Madara's Susano is not Itachi's Susano.

Umm itachi is way smarter than nagato. Nagato is succeptable to genjutsu. Also, he has no counter to itachi's sealing sword. And finally, every jutsu can be countered, and a heralded genius like itachi would exploit nagato's weaknesses, albeit the few he has.

Itachi alone can't take Chibaku Tensei. And if Nagato is mobile, in control of his own body, and with Gedo Mazo (without Bijuus) as a last resort, I don't see him losing.
