pain with jiraiya path?

Then we wouldn't be in the war arc, considering Akatsuki would have probably captured the roaming Kyuubi...

Considering THEN that there wouldn't be a war arc because it would leave the Hachibi to be captured. Every other village would have lost it's tailed beast but Kumogakure. Meaning that the other countries would have been GLAD to have them take the Hachibi to even out the world power. The point of the tailed beasts was to have equilibrium between the village powers.
