Pain jutsu for madara/obito

Hello, i'm currently rewatching naruto.

After pain was defeated and brought everyone back to life, tobi said that the jutsu was meant for him. But i don't understand why he should use it on obito? Or was it meant for madara? who was dead at that moment?

It was meant for Madara.

Obito had multiple motives.

On one hand he had to make Zetsu and Black Zetsu believe that he still wanted to revive Madara, even though he had no intention of doing so.

On the other hand, he might have also planned to use Nagato's Rinne Tensei on Rin.

Just like necromancer said, obito just said that to make it look like he wanted to revive madara but it was just a ruse.
