This is going to sound crazy but Nagato should not be added into the top 10.

Nagato, is to situational to be added in top 10 to have him at his peak of health you take away his experience with the Rinnegan. Nagato can only be added into the top 10 if he is using his 6 paths tech.

Your right. Nagato did not have the ability to use the paths before he summoned Gedo Mazo as well as he did during his fight with Naruto.

I also believe that the six paths of pein where stronger than Nagato using the paths alone, because the ability to use the paths from different angles with the shared vision, and how impossibly difficult it is to figure out all the secrets of the paths and Nagato controlling them from far away.

Nagato was a boss by the time jiraiya stopped training him. What people are saying is that if nagato hadn't used the gedo statue on hanzos men, he would have been healthy. A full and healthy nagato is damn near god status

Clearly, Nagato possessed immense knowledge of the Rin'negan before his legs being burned via Obito. Him summoning the Gedō Mazō, the outer shell of the Ten Tails, the most powerful of the Rikudo jutsu, should be viable proof, but of course you can not accept this...

Nagato is more powerful than the Pains, however since he's immobile he's still vulnerable to strategies like Jiraiya's one to take away the pains vision, Naruto's ones of distraction or Itachi's. strength is the not the same as power, the six paths of pain are still more powerful than any other shinobi outside bm naruto, madara, hashirama and juubito. and their linked vision and superior numbers give him an almost unassailable advtange.

also, that naruto defeated pain means little. a. he had a lot of accumulated knowledge which counts a lot in pain's case where his mystery is one of his strongest assets. b. the deva path wasnt functioning for most of the fight (imagine say itachi w/o susanoo in the sasuke fight, he'd be a little pile of ash right now) and c. naruto survived mostly because he went full kyuubi.

the only persons Pain would definitely not beat are current Naruto, Hashirama, Juubito (or any version of Obito really) and Madara. DSM Kabuto, EMS Sasuke, prime Hanzou and Minato are doubtful, maybe Hiruzen once Kishi decides how powerful he really is. so he's still top ten easily.

Using a big shinra tensei makes sense while he's trying to protect people as well? He sacrificed his legs only to save Konan which is what made him crippled. How is 10 years or so not experienced when he was able to master every single element under Jiriya when he was only around for a few years?

What are you talking about? Konan was at his side / slightly behind him, he could just use Shinra Tensei and blow everything before him, instead of summoning GM. If he was experienced, that is.
