Owatatsumi

Few can remember what once stood on this spot, and no one dares delve into the depths of the Swamp to find out who once lived here. Owatatsumi is a mystery that will linger in Tobusekai until the end of time...

The assassin's return to the homeland was welcomed with a silent nod from those who knew of him and his propensity for a more quieted reception. The lands spoke to him through the winds that rustled grass and swayed trees. There, along the path leading to the shrine toward the northeastern end, he waited, for his purpose to speak to him as the lands did.

Starting mission: Fight an enemy much stronger than yourself (S)

She was finally home after roughly seven years. Of course, Tsumigakure was her current location of residence but this place known as Owatatsumi brought a sense of nostalgia into her heart. The lush forestry was always an amazing sight. As Mirabelle jumped from tree to tree, she immediately started to sense the lower-ranking members who had the blood of the Ryujin and Watatsumi Sanjin coursing through their veins. Upon reaching near the gates of the Hayabusa Ninja Village, a group of Master Ninja Guards appeared immediately before Mirabelle. She stopped within her tracks, wondering what exactly is going on.

Halt” one guard said, evidently female. The two ninjas watched the maiden herself, wondering who she was but they are aware of her presence via Tajin, thus allowing them to identify her as a Hayabusa. “Whom are you?” the other spoke, a young male. Mirabelle would kneel slightly with respect to the higher-ranked members. “Mirabelle Hayabusa, Dragon Maiden of Owatatsumi. Daughter of Daisuke Hayabusa, First Cousin of Reborn Hayabusa the Grand Master and member of the Dragon Lineage” she said announced most of her titles and alignments within the clan. The two guards’ eyes widen immediately, releasing this woman was of Hayabusa royalty. They immediately stepped aside, allowing her entrance to the village.

She nodded, now entering the village – many eyes wondering towards her. While some couldn’t sense her arrival due to having lower ranks than her, but many clapped as she finally returned back to Owatasumi after so many years. “Mira-nee!” one of the kids from the village came running towards her. Her eyes drifted towards the direction, seeing one of the kids she use to teach before leaving the village. “Hina! You’ve grown up so much~” she said grabbing the little girl and tossing her in the air lightly. Hina was now eight years old, having last seen Mirabelle when she was two years old.

Hehe, I’ve become a Chunin since you left, wanna spar with me?
Haha, sometime later Hina. I’ve only come here for a visit honestly, so I’ll be catching up with everyone as much as possible
Yay!

Hina said laughing. She put her down, now looking into the direction of the Owatatsumi gravesite. “If you’ll excuse me for a moment…” she said heading over to the site. Hina curiously watched from behind, wondering why she was heading over there.

“Hey dad, sis” she said to the gravesites of her late father and twin sister. She would get into the lotus position as she prayed to her fallen family members…

As Chise wandered into the Shalewood region after crossing through Ōkuninushi’s Peak, she was immediately greeted by the unpleasant composition of the region's "growth", or lack-there-of. The withering trees and the seemingly smog-like air that made it difficult to breathe freely was leaving much to be desired. The treacherous terrain would no doubt stifle her progress and bring more than a handful of challenges crossing safely, let alone in a timely manner. To her surprise, she happened to see a caravan of some sort just a bit away; several workers mounting gear that seemed to be utilized to shave and harvest the minerals from the decaying trees and soil. She approached them carefully, getting the attention of one as narrowly as she could. "Excuse me.. I'm looking for a port that could fairy me across the Strait to get to Owatatsumi.. would you happen to know where that is?" The man looks toward her, bringing a hand up to rub some dirtied sweat from his brow. He seemed quite young by comparison to the average amongst them, possibly only a few years older than she was. He smiled, thumbing over his shoulder toward the cart mounted with supplies and buckets full of minerals. "Yeah, we're on our way there now actually. You don't look like you're from around here; this place is pretty sketchy to pass if you're not familiar with the terrain. You're welcome to mount up with us, we'll get'cha there." Chise peeked over his shoulder to eye the caravan, offering a nod toward the boy afterward in agreement to go with them. She took a seat along the back of the cart, where she road for some time until they'd arrive along the Eastern edge of the region where the potent scent of salt water filled the air once more. Once she dismounted the cart, she offered a bow of gratitude to the group, waving farewell before making her way along the harbor in hopes of finding a ship to take her where she wanted to go.

After a bit of trial and error, she finally found a ship that was bound for Owatatsumi. Once having shared all the relevant information with them accompanied by a few additional questions that seemed mostly relevant to "have you been anywhere near the Hokubu ocean recently?" She shook her head in response, though it didn't strike her until she was aboard the ship that she had heard this particular ocean was known for the spawning point of the red fever that has been going around. The "Sea of Life", remnants of a battle against a primordial being not long ago.. Something about it all seemed fascinating to her, on top of quite frightening. Opting to steer clear of it as much as she could for now, she focused in on her approaching arrival to her final destinaion. With luck, she'd be able to surprise Mirabelle, or better yet find her unharmed.

After a lengthy journey that finalized with the crossing of the Kasumi Strait that stretched from Shalewood, the ship Chise was aboard had finally docked along the harbor of the Owatatsumi region; known for being the Hayabusa clan territory. It seemed relatively normal, all things considered. Especially by comparison to some of the locations she had visited in her travels to arrive here. Yet it had a certain charm to it; something of a "natural beauty" that went without the need for much in the way of the "human touch." The sprawling branches of lush shrubs and trees alike surrounding the hills in the distance and hugging neatly around every building and roadway that seemed to work around the trees, rather than the opposite. After her journey aboard a mineral transport from a heavy-aired region prior, Chise seemed to welcome the fresh, breezy air readily and longingly. With a deep inhale that escaped as a soft, drawn exhale, she carefully stepped off of the ship after bidding her farewells to the crew. She had moved to take off her coat, given that she wore it through the colder regions she had passed through, but now was far warmer than she could consider comfortable. With her coat tucked neatly over her arm and hugged to her chest, she slowly began to wander forward. She seemed uncertain of where to go exactly; referring to her map would hardly do her any good, given it was a world map and not one of the region itself. Her

best hope was to follow signs and perhaps occasionally ask for directions. Chise imagined she'd be more familiar and comfortable with that process by now, given how prone to travels she has been recently, yet it'd seem growing out of ones own timid nature was hardly something so easily done.

Having picked a path to travel for a time, Chise followed it until she'd approach the towering gates of.. a village? She peered up at it's height before slowly passing her glance back downward to eye the guards stationed idly yet vigilantly at the entrance, one of whom appeared to be a woman. Chise slowly approached, of which the attention of the guards fixated central upon her, freezing her stiff in her tracks, yet somehow she seemed to have anticipated that sort of reaction.. "
Whom are you?" the woman called out; a certain tone carrying behind her words as though she felt a redundancy to this particular question recently, yet something that would otherwise go unnoticed to anyone not familiar with her day entirely. Chise's emerald eyes lifted attentively, and as if by automation she felt the rhythm of reflex sink in. "Chise Hatori, of the village of Tsumigakure." This was the answer she had given each and every time she had given just prior to boarding a ship, asked of her by the dock-masters and ship captain's for manifests and travel documentations. A slight surprise crossed with herself at how ready she was to answer, yet it didn't seem quite enough for the guard. "And? What business do you have in the Hayabusa village?" Chise's gaze dropped a moment as she considered why it was she had come for a moment, as if somehow it had slipped her mind, even if for an instant.before it suddenly struck her like a cord to an instrument, resounding through her nerves in sudden remembrance as she met the woman's gaze. "Ah.. I'm here to speak with Mira-sen-- .. ah, I mean Mirabelle Hayabusa. Has she arrived yet..?" A brow lifted across the guard's visage, passing a glance to her comrade before returning her attention toward Chise, offering her a brief head bow before sidestepping from the walkway of the gate. "My apologies, I should have recognized you were one of the Lady's acquaintances from the village of Sin. She arrived a bit earlier, no doubt paying her respects. Follow the path from here and you'll see the burial shrine there." Chise followed the gestures of guidance of the guard, something tugging up from her chest the moment she heard that Mirabelle had already arrived; perhaps joy, or simply refreshing news, knowing she had gotten here safely. Yet just as soon as the feeling climbed in her, it had dropped hard, a reverberating thrum beating against her rib cage as she heard where Mirabelle supposedly was. With a nod and a bow of gratification to the guards, Chise shuffled forward in something of a casual walk that occasionally picked up in pace but would also drag to nearly motionless. It was as if she couldn't quite decide whether she wanted to get there sooner or not; unsure of whether she hadn't really thought this through well enough.. Was she even welcome here? Would she be intruding on something that Mirabelle would have rather kept personal..? The thought seemed to sink in her chest heavily, yet something of a resolve took over after she brought her hands up to clap lightly at her own cheeks, emerald eyes focused forward. She had already come this far, and turning back seemed hardly an option after just arriving. She was committed now; any consequences that might come of it would have to be something she faces head on now..

After a stroll along the path that she was instructed to follow, Chise had finally arrived at the entrance of the Shrine grounds that she had been informed about. Chise paused at the central point of the stone walls that seemed to surround the grounds and keep it separated respectively, her gaze looking up toward the Shrine that seemed to tower slightly over the height of the walls. A certain unease kept her feet glued to the ground just outside.. she didn't much care for these sorts of places, but the reasoning seemed to escape her. With a deep breath, she stepped through the decorative metal gate that was arranged as the entrance to the grounds, eyeing around briefly before spotting what seemed to be the only other person here, settled in a lotus pose in front of a set of gravestones. The familiar dirty-blonde hair and slender posture seemed unmistakable. The heavy feeling in Chise's chest seemed persistent, yet now it felt more akin to a a certain melancholy rather than any real dread. She wasn't sure what to do in this particular circumstance, yet for some reason the immediate flash of a distant memory crossed her mind upon seeing Mirabelle here. Chise suddenly saw herself; a small child standing at the foot of a grave that belonged to someone she'd rather have not died, but also dreaded them being alive.. As if instinctively, Chise's hand rose to rub tenderly at her throat, fingertips gently caressing along the skin there before blinking herself back to reality, dropping her hand quickly. With a slow step forward, Chise kept herself at a slight distance for now, wanting to not interrupt Mirabelle in her moment of solace. While at the same time, Chise felt that it was her opportunity to try and think over how she planned to handle any questions or concerns Mirabelle might have for why she was there. Perhaps she didn't even really know herself why she came, yet seeing Mirabelle here now, she felt like it was the right choice to make, at least for her own selfish sense of concern..

Mirabelle’s mind was seemingly disconnected from the world surrounding them. She was one with nature at this very moment, being able to detect the natural energy coursing through the lands. She was finished with the prayers to her lost sister and father, thus she was ready to head over back to the shrine she uses to attend to. Her eyes opened, as glowing a bright amber coloration briefly before turning back to sapphire blue. “That should do…” she said, getting off the ground and dusting her clothes off. As she turned to walk away, she noticed someone standing there.

It was Chise, surprisingly the guards didn’t have an issue letting her in it seems. Mirabelle was immediately happy to see her, rushing over to embrace her with a hug. “Sorry I took so long to get back…I just wanted to come literally “home” for once haha…hence why I told you to join up with me here. Anyways, there was something I wanted to talk with you about…” she said guiding her towards the graves.

Id like you to meet my dad and sister. Isabelle and Daisuke Hayabusa, this is Chise” she introduced everyone. It was a bit awkward but Mirabelle did it for a reason, a reason she wanted to stress here and now. “You see Chise…I wanted to offer you something…something that I think you deserve…” she said remembering the horrible backstory of Chise. Miyu wanted to take control at this point but Mirabelle herself wanted to be the one to speak here. “I…lost my immediate family, my mom, dad, and twin sister…” she said with a bit of tear appearing in her eyes. “I know what it's like to lose someone so important to you, but while I do have extended family here, I don’t always consider them my literal family,” she said bluntly. She had many cousins here, a few uncles alive too.

What I’m trying to say is…I don’t want to be your sensei only, I want to be your sister…haha. I want to learn with you, protect you, do things together as much as siblings can…of course, I can't give you what a mother and father can offer but I can always try. You’ve struggled enough…I think its time you had some sort of family truly be with you” she said, embracing Chise, assuming she doesn’t resist.

Mirabelle hoped she would accept, if not then not much she can do about it as she doesn’t wish to force it onto Chise at the end of the day.

Chise waited patiently for a time, holding herself in place while occasionally skimming about her surroundings. The natural influence over the village was rather refreshing; something that she seemed to notice that Tsumigakure seemed to lack now, apart from the occasional shrub here or there. It was homed by what was known as the "Badlands" so it was hardly surprising, yet somehow, she thought, she'd like to try and bring some of the colors from this place back there. Perhaps it'd offer a bit of life and vibrancy to the village that seems to leave it feeling.. grey otherwise.

Suddenly, Chise saw the movement of the other for the first time, watching her stand and begin to dust herself off before pivoting to make eye contact. She stood silent for a moment before opting to offer a gentle smile. "Hello, Mirabelle-Sens-- a-Ah..!" She was cut short by the sudden

rushing momentum that Mirabelle had picked up before kicking herself off into Chise to wrap her in one of her otherwise "famous" hugs. A brief moment of surprise overtook her as she seemed to contemplate trying to pry herself away, if nothing else but simply for old times' sake, as if that had become something of a norm for her to try and do given Mirabelle's otherwise impulsive gestures and seemingly incessant need for this level of contact and affection. Yet the urge was immediately replaced by a floating sense of relief and comfort; something that was no doubt intended in the first place. The familiar yet recently absent warmth and tenderness of her embrace seemed to draw Chise in, feeling the need to take advantage in the lingering moment. Her own hands slowly rose to wrap around Mirabelle's somewhat taller frame, coat still slung over one of her two forearms in the process. ".. Glad to see you, too.." she hummed with a softened expression upon her visage.

After they had naturally pulled apart, Chise made it a point to listen intently to Mirabelle when she first started to talk. She looked on curiously as she seemed to ramble on a moment between several different topics before circling in on the supposed reason as to why she had asked for Chise to come here as well. She offered a reassuring nod to Mirabelle before following her toward the graves she had just watched Mirabelle pray to a moment ago. She felt a sudden sense of awkwardness, yet it was brief, or simply minor. Perhaps that was to be expected, given the fact that she never knew those she was now standing to "meet", no face to put to the name, nor personality to match. Yet all of that seemed to fade away as indifference the more she considered what it meant to Mirabelle, allowing Chise to grow slow comfort to the scenario, her body relaxing as she stood attentively before the graves as Mirabelle went on to introduce her. She slowly bowed her head forward, her emerald eyes sheltering behind her lids in a moment of silent respect. Slowly she stood back straight once more, her gaze suddenly rising toward Mirabelle at the sudden change in tone.. A soft scarlet tinge passed her cheeks as she carefully shifted her gaze sideward. She had suddenly remembered the breakdown she practically had both in front of Mirabelle and the Tsumikage about her past. A sense of embarrassment swelled in her; she resisted to urge to run and hide herself away from the situation, yet she was all too familiar with the lack of what that really solved..

The sudden mention of family sparked a sudden grip against the left of Chise's ribs; as if a hand that was soft yet firm at the same time clenched around her heart and just hung like a dead weight from it in her chest. She felt her teeth subconsciously grit together behind her lips as she felt an impulsive swelling tug behind her eyes. She pushed against it as much as she could, holding it at bay; something that she had become relatively good

at, for better or worse, yet it was still incredibly unpleasant.. This was a memory she didn't much care to revisit, let alone so often in such a short amount of time. She knew she hadn't managed to "deal with it" yet, nor has she come to peace with everything that happened in her childhood. How could anyone be expected to though..? Perhaps she was just too weak, or simply unwilling to even try. She remembered all the times of her past self where death seemed like the only kindness that this world could offer her. The illusions she was plagued by so often and the sense of abandonment that had more layers than she could ever unpack without being overwhelmed by it.. How many times had she tried, but always fell short of succeeding by some excuse she could never manage to avoid making up..? Perhaps weak wasn't the right word, but "cowardly" was. So many others suffered identical or worse fates than her own, she stood amongst the proof to that at this very moment. The suffering Mirabelle no doubt felt herself, the lost opportunities and the unanswered questions, just like her..

Chise slowly lifted her emerald gaze the moment she felt Mirabelle pull her in for yet another embrace after she had finished explaining her thoughts. She felt her brows knit together in slight frustration within herself. Was this truly okay..? One part of her wanted to jump with glee at the thought of having someone to call family, but in the same hand she felt it was too much to hope for; a "happy ending" that, by this point, felt as impossible as anything a fairy tale could make up. But most of all, she couldn't help but feel a dread swell within her the moment she considered the thought of being a burden to Mirabelle in any way. What if she was actually cursed, like her mother and village believed she was..? Would such a thing stir back up if she even attempt to get closer to someone again? It seemed so unrealistic, yet the possibility was enough to make her more than a little anxious.. After a slight draft of breath, a shallow voice escaped her finally in response. "... I don't think I could want anything else, anymore than wanting to be able to call you my sister, but.. but.." Her voice failed her a moment, as if having been ensnared by a cold rush that she was suddenly consumed by before recollecting herself in a momentary deep breath. "I don't know what I deserve, Mirabelle-Sensei.. I don't think it is this, though.. I don't deserve this kindness, after how selfish and self-centered I've been my entire life.. But I do wish for it, if nothing else.." Her voice crumbled once again as she slowly lifted her arms to pull weakly around Mirabelle's frame, letting her head press into her shoulder as if trying to bury herself away from being seen. It was childish, and never worked before, but that'd likely never stop her from trying impulsively, again and again.

You deserve whatever you think you deserve Chise” Mirabelle hummed with a light giggle. She visually saw an image of Isabelle flash before her eyes but immediately it faded away into a cluster of red roses. Only to reveal the red-headed girl named Chise to be there. Ever since she met her, she had a feeling of fate brought them together – something she will forever be grateful for. “And being selfish and self-centered as all a part of being human. We are all flawed, regardless of how much someone tries to make themselves sound perfect. I’m the same way sometimes, sometimes I’m just as vile and scummy…” she made a snide remark about her “Queen” personality. She would kiss Chise on the forehead, a promise of her ever-developing love for this child.

And as of today, I’m no longer Mirabelle –sensei. Its Mira-nee, Mira-nee chan, or any variations of it haha. We’re siblings now after all” she said smiling to Chise. “Now then…” she said getting something from her ninja pouch. It was a scarf, but it had a different purpose of course. “This is yours now,” she said, wrapping it around her neck softly. “Utilize your chakra into the fibers, it will react to you and thus will shift into any type of clothing you can think of and will always be made to suit the climate,” she said. She gently released herself, as she stood back a moment and followed her own instructions.

The fibers reacted to her chakra, immediately shifting form and transforming her previous attire into that of Shrine Maiden's clothing. “Now, normally it is forbidden for outsiders to help in our work but you’re my guest and my sister now, so welcome to the clan…kinda haha. We’ll be cleaning the Dragon Shrine, but while at it we can talk, of course, get to know each other even more. Now try to mimic the exact kimono and we’ll start right away” she said but started to cough a bit, considering she was still sick.

As Mirabelle began to respond, Chise felt her cheeks burn incessantly; her eyes welting as she slowly closed them, trying to confine herself and find some sense of composure amongst the surge of unanticipated emotions and thoughts. After they slowly separated, Chise lifted her emerald hues to meet the attention of Mirabelle, only to find her seemingly locked in something of a daydream, looking right at her. Chise blinked, a subtle title of her head shifting sideward in something of a curiosity. "u-Uhm.. you okay, Mirabelle-Sensei..?" The moment Chise's words passed her lips, it seemed that Mirabelle had immediately snapped from her trance, as if she only just now remembered that Chise was there. She seemed to play it off rather smoothly, not so much as mentioning what had just happened or seeming overly put off by it. Chise simply blinked in mild intrigue but opted not to

dig too much into it. Perhaps she was simply tired, after all that she'd gone through recently.

As Chise listened to Mirabelle, a heat rose rapidly past her cheeks and into the crowns of her ears, her gaze shifting slowly sideward as if to avoid direct eye contact, at least until she could collect herself. "Mira-nee, Mira-nee chan"
; not necessarily uncommon references for the sort of bond they seemed to aim to share, yet it was most definitely not familiar to her. She could recall having a younger brother, once upon a time, though that memory was stained just like any other reference she had of what family supposedly was. Was it so simple as to just start referring to someone as family..? Simply change the honorifics you apply to them and regard them as such? It seemed.. trivial, but also very hard to do, despite the simplicity of it. She glanced sideward toward Mirabelle, her head still slanted in a slightly lowered state from resting as she considered what to say, or how to respond.. ".. If you don't mind, could you maybe wait for a bit on that..? It might take me some time to get used to this, I think.. So, a lot of it might not set in right away, y'know..?" Chise slowly lifted her gaze to meet Mirabelle's once again, a sudden unease rushing over her as she felt like she had just been very dismissive of Mirabelle's own side of this. There she went again, being selfish and self-centered.. She slowly broke a smile across her lips, offering a light nod toward her. "Besides.. I think Sensei suits you. Sounds way cooler.." Chise hummed with a soft laughter under her breath to follow. It wasn't as though she didn't want to refer to her as "Sister" in some way or another, but it felt very.. unnatural to her at the moment. No doubt she simply hadn't felt that it was quite real as of yet, so it'd only be a matter of time and patience for her to get there, no doubt..

Suddenly, Chise watched as Mirabelle approached her with something she had pulled from her pouch. She eyed the scarf that was loosely wrapped around her, lifting a hand to gently press her fingers against the fabric in curiosity. She eyed Mirabelle as she explained what it was to her, and she

suddenly recalled a few instances in the past that she had seen Mirabelle use this very tool, even now she watched her begin to mold her attire to her very whim. She listened as Mirabelle told her to do the same. Was it really just that easy..? Chise slowly looked down toward the scarf, eyeing it intently for a moment before slowly closing her eyes, as if to capture the image of what she thought was appropriate in terms of appearance for this sort of occasion. Slowly the fabrics began to bend and weave around her, almost like vines of thorns lightly caressing her shape as her chakra poured through every strand, willing the image she had captured to manifest over her own attire. After a longer than usual process, given it being her first time really utilizing such a tool, she lifted her gaze to match Mirabelle, as if looking for a sign that it had worked without immediately looking at herself first. ".. Ah.. Will this work..? I've never really been to a lot of shrines, least of all spent enough time there to know what's appropriate, I guess."

This post marks the start of the mission utilizing the element(s) below
  1. Defeat a small group of undead [B Rank]
You’re no fun…” she teased at Chise, she didn’t want to be called Sensei anymore but she didn’t want to be rude about it. “Only for a short period of time, once it settles in you will call me sis from then onwards. Promise me?” she said with a cheeky smile. Once all was said and done, she saw Chise morph the clothing into a shrine maiden outfit similar to her own. She approved of it with a slight head nod but before she can speak again, she heard some voices in the distance yelling.

“Help!” one of them said. Her eyes immediately became fixed towards the other side of the village walls. “Chise, with me!” she said immediately body flickering into the direction of the voices. Once they arrived onto the walls, there stood a small army of undead marching from the direction of the Radiant Fields. Mirabelle sighed a bit but looking over to Chise. “Ready to show me what you learned on your own??” she said smirking.

Mirabelle immediately jumped from the walls – landing onto the ground and tossing the person over onto the walls for safety. “Chise, you take the army to the left, I’ll handle to one to the right!” she said dashing off towards them now.

This message marks the beginning of my mission using the following storyboard elements:
  • Defeat a small group of undead (B-rank)

A brief moment was given to a response she could manage toward Mirabelle's light-hearted antics toward her, Chise offering a faint nod of affirmation toward her insistence for a promise that she'd eventually take on the reference of Mirabelle as her sister. Chise had every intention of doing just that, sooner or later.. she just needed time to really sink into what it meant to her. Yet the moment of peace was abruptly disturbed by the howling calls from beyond the wall. Her attention whipped sideward toward the top of the wall before she'd turn back to Mirabelle, whom had already begun to spring into action. Chise blinked as her brows slowly pinched together in momentary confusion the moment Mirabelle phased

away and reappeared on the wall. She seemed always in such a rush to get the ball rolling on things such as this, or perhaps Chise was simply slower to the punch; took more time than any typical life or death situation would allow for to try and process a situation.

With a brief sigh, Chise quickly jumped after Mirabelle, taking her place beside her atop the wall, eyeing the horde of the shambling corpses arranged in the distance, crossing the rather open fields that filled in the gap between the village and the direction the undead were marching from. Chise eyed them cautiously, a singular bead of sweat playing down her temple and across her cheek as memories of the previous encounter she had with these same type of undead creatures back in Tsumigakure, just prior to her departure to meet up with Mirabelle. They were terrible, horrific abominations that had no sense of self preservation or tactic, all in the name of relentless violence.. A sharp, chilled shiver crept up her spine and along her nape as she recalled the numerous close encounters she had with them in just one day; how likely it was that she could have easily been killed in a second if she hadn't managed to get them away from her in time. She eyed Mirabelle after she had been given her directions, of which she felt a sense of resolve sudden pull over her as she clenched her hands tightly at her sides, nodding resolutely toward Mirabelle. ".. Right. We can't let them harm your village. But please be careful, Mira-Sensei." With that, Chise carefully leapt from the temporary safety of the top of the walls, bringing herself down to ground level where she faced to approaching left flank that she was tasked with tending to.

With a slow and careful inhale, Chise narrowed her eyes down the path of corpses, trying to take a headcount to give her a more accurate idea of how many she was actually dealing with. Considering how frequently they seemed to overlay and sway in between one another, it made it rather difficult for her to accurately count them without concern of potentially recounting one here or there, thinking it was a different one entirely. At the very least, she accounted for at least fifteen or so in the collective she was facing down, give or take a few. That was at least a good estimate, so she at least had a baseline to follow in terms of threat. She took a moment to consider that though they were marching together, they were relatively spread out, making it difficult for her to handle them all in one simple sweeping technique. She'd have to get close and "intimate" one way or another..
Letting out the breath she seemed to be unconsciously holding, Chise eyed 3 rapidly approaching undead, rushing her at speeds she hadn't even considered they might be capable of. With a quick lift of her hands, she felt a surge of chakra push through her arms and into her palms as she willed it before lowering herself to ram her palms against the ground, releasing the chakra in an abrupt flowing burst that spread forward toward the charging Undead, causing the ground to begin shaking in a rigorous tremor, creating an inability for the shambling corpses to maintain their charging momentum and causing them to shuffle about before stumbling to the ground.

Type: Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: The user will concentrate and release their chakra into the ground to create a small tremer that can result in making the enemies lose their footing and fall to ground or miss the aim of a given technique.

Having created an opportunity of reprieve for herself from the quicker paced Undead, Chise immediately lifted her hands and proceeded to perform the boar and ox hand seals in quick succession of one another. Utilizing the Earth element still freshly coursing through her palms, she quickly planted them into the ground once again as she had done before, creating a connection of her chakra within the ground. Targeting the surrounding area around the corpses that were attempting to stand from her previous technique, the Earth began to shift in a slow rotation, the will of her chakra acting as a force, cracking and splitting the Earth as it was made to bend in a spiral inwards, first snagging the ankles and legs of the Undead and pulling them in with the shifting ground, consuming them in a gradual and quickening pace; ridged and blunt rocks alike crumbled around the 3 Undead, sharper ones skewering them while the more blunted rocks were simply pressed up against their bodies in unrelenting force that would inevitably crush bone after bone until they were nothing but lifeless arms outstretched from the now malformed patch of Earth.
Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Ox → placing hand on the ground, the user causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them in a mayhem of jagged rocks. This technique is capable of causing quite a bit of damage to a large area. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave.

With a quick sigh of relief that the combination of techniques managed to work as intended, Chise heard sudden groaning that sounded far closer than she cared to know. Whipping her head to her side, 4 other Undead had managed to split away from the larger group and were now closing in on her, ready to pounce at any moment. With a sudden exasperated gasp, Chise immediately pushed off of her feet and lunged backward, narrowly missing the first Corpse's attempt to fall over her and pin her to the ground. With a quick reach into her back pouch, she plucked from it a set of standard Shuriken, pinching them tightly between each of her fingers as she eyed the small group. Her brows knitted tightly together in some eerie

combination of focus and terror as sweat beaded down the back of her neck, she wouldn't have a lot of opportunity to recover if she misses any of them. Suddenly, she recalled a technique she had recently learned from watching a crewman on one of the ships she had sailed on recently. A technique that harnessed wind chakra to sharpen the edge of any blade the user wished, increasing it's speed and reach all at once. She watched as the Undead continued toward her, the gap she had created between them closing rapidly the longer she thought about her next move. Lifting her Shuriken in front of her, Chise quickly pushed a flow of wind chakra from her lungs, slowly exhaling it outward along the blades within her hands. They immediately began to take on a swirling rigidness in an outline around them, a sign that seemed to tell her the technique worked. Quickly lifting her gaze back up to the Undead, eyeing each of them for a brief instant to set her targets before hurling six total Shuriken; three from each hand. Her throw was hardly anything impressive, though their accuracy appeared to be the primary focus as the wind chakra surrounding them worked to pick up where her throwing power lacked, increasing their speed and rotation. Each Shuriken found it's mark; each Undead taking one across their neck and shoulders, splitting a violent gash down between their collarbones, while the other two spare Shuriken simply split down the center of two of the Undead's skulls, guaranteeing their deaths..

Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: The user exhales wind-infused chakra onto a weapon in order to increase its sharpness, range and lethality. For example, the user can infuse a kunai to resemble a makeshift scimitar or infuse shuriken to increase their range and cutting power.

Chise watched as each of the four nearest Undead fell as lifeless husks of mangled flesh to the ground, leaving her to take a breath as her heart rattled violently against her ribs. The adrenaline pumping through her veins was enough to wire her for a week; the memory of how easily even one of these things could overwhelm her in an instant constantly flashing through her mind, reminding her that distance was always something to keep with them, if at all possible. She lifted her emerald gaze to eye the remaining horde, roughly 8 of them remaining at a distance no more than 10 meters away. She was now their focus, all converging narrowly in their onslaught toward her. Chise took in a slow, deep breath before concentrating her Earth chakra through each of the points of contact she had with the ground beneath her before lifting her hands and precisely performing the snake hand seal. Holding the seal tightly, the earth began to tremble as the force of her chakra guided the earth in an upheaval that rose slowly to either side of the remaining group of Undead, creating a vast corridor or rock that was blocked off on the opposite end of her, while remaining open on her end, trapping them in a narrow space that gave them only a forward direction to travel.
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: The user will first perform the snake hand seal and then cause the earth in the surrounding area to rise up and over a target and create a cavern, imprisoning the target. The user can leave an opening to allow attacks to go in to strike down the trapped adversaries, or close it up completely to prevent escape.

With the Undead confined, Chise loosened the hand seal as water chakra began to flow through her and into the ground directly in front of her, manifesting itself as a gradually deepening and widening body of water that would function as the necessary source needed to proceed as planned. Lifting her hands once again, Chise began to perform several hand seals in careful precision, starting with the monkey seal and finishing with dragon, of which she held tightly as she concentrated upon the newly formed source of water in front of her. The pool gradually began to lift upward in a column before it began to ripple and twist in a very particular formation, taking on the shape of what appeared to be a serpent. Narrowing her eyes forward intently, the large serpent of water rumbled before it suddenly rushed forward down the perfect center of the corridor that she had created previously, colliding against each of the Undead and consuming them within its mouth and thus into its body of water behind it, carrying them rapidly like a violent rushing river all the way to the opposite end of the corridor before dispersing at the last second, letting the full weight of the water crash with the entirety of it's rushing momentum with the Undead caught within it to crash violently along the back wall of the corridor, crushing them near instantaneously.
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: Using his own chakra the user can, unbeknownst to his opponent, create a single or multiple water sources within the earth. The water sources can vary in size, depending on the need of the user. The user can create up to 3 separate sources but their size altogether may not exceed the size of a human sized pond. They don't form too deep in the ground, but about a meter or two beneath the surface. They can be used only as a source for other water techniques.

Note: Usable only thrice per battle
Note: Courtesy of McRazor
Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: After performing the required handseals: Monkey → Rat → Tiger → Dragon → Horse → Dragon, it then allows the user to generate a spinning column of water which will take the form of a snake with a gaping jaw. This snake can twist and follow its targets and swallow them. After it has swallowed them, it turns into a river that carries the enemy away.

Chise kept her gaze fixed down the center of the corridor for several lingering, breathless moments. She knew these creatures weren't exactly the most durable of things, yet she didn't care to tempt the possibility that one or more had managed to survive without confirming it herself. She waited, eerily, until the river of water she had created slowly began to pour out of the corridor on her end, rushing over her ankles as it began to sink into the soil naturally. She spotted the pileup of corpses on the opposite end of the corridor, each crushed to a state of nearly unrecognizable from what they were prior. The breath she hadn't realized she was holding has quickly escaped her in deep, drawn out pants as she slowly stumbled backward, letting herself carefully fall onto her backside as she brought a hand up to slowly push through her red bangs, aiming to lift them from her face to give her room to breathe unhindered. She had no desire to fight these things more than the one time, let alone doing so often enough that she actually manages to "get used" to them, yet she feared that was rather impossible.. They were far beyond nightmarish to say the least, and with luck, this would be the last time she finds herself faced against them for awhile to come. Slowly, she lifted her gaze toward her right, curious to see what may have come of Mirabelle's own engagement.

Watching her sister go after the undead was rather refreshing, considering it's only been a little over a month since the two of them started to associate with one another. She seemed to have an affinity for water and earth, but right now that wasn’t the issue. She immediately turned her attention to the undead, who was inching closer and closer towards the village walls. “Yare yare…” she said, her eyes turning amber – she immediately would dash towards them. At first, it didn’t seem like they were paying much attention to her as she ran in an arc to their right side. “Hmm” she pondered for a moment before immediately releasing a small ember of flames into their direction. The fire would clash onto one of the zombies, prompting them to turn their attention on her. They started to turn around now, viewing her as their next meal.
Type: Offensive
Rank: D
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Description: The user will release a small but powerful flame of fire at their opponent from either their limbs (through movement) or exhaling it. It can produce fire balls or fire streams or simply aid in taijutsu.

Once they started to come towards her; she would summon forth her favorite spear. This, being the Oath Keeper – she immediately rushed towards the zombies. As the first one nearest to her attempted to lunge at her, she would sidestep to her left side. Twirling her body around, she would guide the blade to slash at the neck of the creature clean off but proceeded to stab the blade into the decapitated head. “One” she said, turning back to see five more left from the group. The second one came from behind, its groaning alerting her immediately of its presence.

She would stab the blade of the spear into the ground, as she uses it as a springboard of sorts. Once airborne, she would position herself directly over the zombie, spinning swiftly in order to perform a downward kick onto its head. “Two…” she said once more on her kill count. She fully crushed the skull in but as she landed onto the ground the other three attacked. This didn’t leave much room for her to think, as she simply rose both her arms wide as she says “Kagutsuchi” immediately causing flame-like plasma composed of dragon chakra to be released from her body. The flames would immediately make contact with the zombies, starting to burn them into nothing more than ash as it stabs through them all as well.

She took a moment to breathe, looking at the direction of Chise to see that she cleared her own wave successfully. She was a bit taxed out, but never the less she enjoyed a little bit of the warm-up. “Good job” she said approaching her. Several Hayabusa border guards appeared before the two of them, immediately noticing the chaos. “Thank you, Lady Mirabelle” they all said, bowing in respect. They silently eyed the foreigner a bit considering they themselves weren’t keen on her just yet. They disappeared in a pool of smoke, taking the wanderer with them to safety within the village to be escorted back to Radiant Fields later. “Now…to the shrine” she said pointing a shrine northeast of their location sitting on top of a hill in the distance.

Description: Taiji Dao is the sister technique to Wuji Dao and its polar opposite. Where the latter returns existence to nothigness, Taiji Dao brings existence from nothingness. Fundamentally, the user creates physical, vital, and/or spiritual entities through the use of their Dantian. The user is also capable of returning enties they've erased with Wuji Dao back into existence in the condition they were erased. The constructs and creations that a user can conjure are limited to their imagination. These constructs, if appropriate, are capable of using Neidan techniques that coincide with the dantian used to create them (e.g physical constructs can use techniques with the lower dantian) ( the entities can, not constructs ). Like other techniques that possess the Chakra of the Dragon, the user is capable of keeping track of anything created with this technique via their Taijin ability. The basic application of this technique sees the use of one of the three dantian to create an entity. However, advanced users are capable of combining two or all three dantian to create entities with qualities of multiple dantian. Combining all three of the dantian is the equivalent to creating a sentient familiar. This technique is learned at genin rank and requires 5 hand signs for external uses. Each rank reduces the requirements for hand signs by 2. The upper echleon (Dragon, Head, Master) may use this technique B-rank and below without hand signs.

Middle Dantian: This application sees the creation of vital/etheral entities from Wuji. Entities created with this dantian possess plasma like forms similar to lightning and fire and appear as translucent black energy. The versatility of this application is less than the lower dantian's application as it possesses no such maluable ability to be formed into multiple different states of matter. Entities created with this application is incredibly high energy giving them the capability to burn on touch or even ignite objects and beings within close proximity (ignition at A-rank and above must be within 2 meters of the entity). The user is immune to their own energy's burning effects. Like the previous application, familiars created with this dantian alone are non-sentient. Entities cannot be created within 5 meters of adversaries unless close range is already established between the user and opponent(s).

Note: Genin may use this technique up to C-rank every two turns. Chunin may use this every other turn up to B-rank. Jounin may use this technique up to S-rank (A-rank for upper dantian), however S-rank usage requires a one turn cool down before re-use. Jounin are also capable of using Multi-Dantian.
Note: Dragon/Head Ninja/Master Ninja may use this technique up to Forbidden Rank but only Masters can use Forbidden Rank multi-dantian.
Note: Forbidden usage of any kind can only be used twice per battle and renders the user incapable of using any Neidan technique for two turns after use.
Note: All applications and familiars may be maintained with additional chakra per turn B-rank and below -5 chakra, A to S -10, -15 for Forbidden.
Note: Familiars consisting of multiple dantian last 4 turns if they are A-rank and 3 S-rank and above. However, only one multi-dantian familiar may exist at any given time from the user.

Chise remained settled on the ground as she watched the tail-end of Mirabelle's cleanup of her own encounter. She felt as though her own efforts seemed far more strenuous than they needed to be, noticing that Mirabelle was capable of managing her own affairs in a quarter of the time. Perhaps that was to be expected, given she was the senior when it came to these sorts of encounters, so it wasn't at all surprising to Chise that she had room to grow in her efficiency. She slowly moved to stand before she suddenly saw the rushing guards that had taken their place in front of

Mirabelle after she had come over to meet up with Chise. She gently patted at her robe, lifting a careful, emerald gaze to that of the guards, noting their otherwise incessant glare that seemed consistently glued upon her. The drastic difference in treatment between herself and Mirabelle was practically night and day; she knew that Mirabelle was apart of this particular clan, yet she felt somehow demonized despite having done nothing to wrong them, at least not that she could recall. Yet as unpleasant as it sounded, Chise was all too familiar to this particular sort of "reception." Her own family and village made sure of that..

After recollecting herself, Chise stood straight and blinked as she eyed Mirabelle, whom quickly began making her way back toward the Shrine after the encounter they just finished. A faint defeated sigh escaped Chise as she realized that rest wasn't exactly something that would come so easily to this way of life. A faint, dry cough escaped her as she slowly lifted a sleeve to cover it quickly, a dizzy spell suddenly rushing over her eyes as everything turned white for a moment. She stumbled forward before catching her balance, holding herself in place a moment until it passed naturally, blinking the recognition of colors and shapes back into her vision as she made a quick shake of her head before looking forward once again. That was right.. she and Mirabelle both were still ill from the virus that was spreading. Supposedly the tournament that Mirabelle had participated in held the cure to this virus. With luck, whoever manages to win it thinks to share it with the rest of the world.. Taking in a careful, deep breath, Chise began her pace to catch up to Mirabelle, following her toward the Shrine she spoke up. "Uhm.. so what exactly are we doing?"

Cleaning” Mirabelle said bluntly. As they arrived at the northern dragon shrine, there stood several guardian statues. She would silently bow to them, showing her respect to them for guarding the shrines in the absence of the clan members. Once they gave their minor prayers, she would approach the shrine – going around the back to retrieve the cleaning supplies. “I know it sounds boring, but the maintenance of this shrine is the main duty of Dragon Shrine Maidens,” she said handing Chise a broom.

I’ll polish the statues, wrack the leaves, and anything else. You can just sweep around, as your my guest – it would be inappropriate of me” she said with a smile. Once she was done, she started to do her cleaning. “Normally I don’t talk too much about it, but do you wish to learn a little bit more about my clan?” she offered a little story time with Chise.

Chise's attention perked slightly, a few blinks crossing her attention as she took in the very simple and definitely response she had received from Mirabelle. They were there to.. clean? She followed behind her all the way up to to entrance, listening to her explain the general expected duties of a "Shrine Maiden." Chise approached the statues just as Mirabelle did, slowly resting her hands together in front of her as she narrowly bowed forward to the statues in a careful, respectful posture. She wanted to pay the same respects to this place, regardless of her what affiliation she had with it; or didn't have, more specifically. She looked at the broom handed to her, a smile slowly playing across her lips as she tenderly gripped hold of it with both hands, offering a quick nod to Mirabelle. "Actually.. I'm kind of looking forward to it. It'll be a nice change of pace compared to what we've been dealing with lately." Chise turned her emerald gaze around the shrine they stood within as if to take in the condition of it in more than a few ways. All of the statues, pillars, walkways, just to name a few that were outside the shrine. Without much hesitation, she quickly moved herself up to the back-most side of the Shrine's grounds, following the pathway that was carved throughout it using what seemed like cobblestone, which while having a decent appearance, left room for more than a few things to get caught between each small crevice naturally woven throughout the paths. She noted that the pathway seemed to wind in a square-like shape around the main Shrine building situated at the center of the grounds, meaning the central point where she stood behind it would require her to work in both directions sooner or later to make the full rounds. She felt a pulling temptation to utilize her ninjutsu to amplify her efficiency, yet she immediately shook it off, recognizing how important it was to apply discipline to oneself by simply performing their duties and choirs without roundabout methods.

With a resolute nod, Chise quickly began to pass the broom over the pathway, working her way down the left side first in a slow and thorough manner. She was careful not to sweep anything off of the pathway and simply onto the other parts of the grounds instead, such as the grass or gravel surrounding the walkway. Instead, she prioritized sweeping whatever she had come across into a gathering pile in front of her, consistently moving it further and further along the line until she found herself centered at the front. She then quickly pivoted along her heels and moved back down the walkway, retracing her steps in a slow pace, as if taking her time to look over her work and to account for any stray spots she'd possibly have missed. Once she found herself centered around the back once again, she started up the same pattern of operation down the right-most path, following it around thoroughly until she met back up at the front-and-center where the pile she had left behind from the left was added to with what she had gathered again. A collection of stray leaves, clumps of dirt, feathers from birds flying overhead, among whatever else that was too fine or small to distinguish out from the rest of the pile. She peeked around to make sure nothing else too big had been left before moving to take hold of a dusting pan and carefully swept what she had gathered into it, moving to find a nearby waste bin to dump into. She carried the broom and pan back behind the shrine, following the path she recalled Mirabelle using herself to initially retrieve them, finding the shed that was home to them. She pushed her way through the creaking door, eyeing a clear spot where she suspected they had been pulled from originally, returning them to place. Just as she was about to turn around and leave, she eyed a collection of small and medium sized jugs situated along a shelf. They were riddled in dust, leaving their labels unreadable. She stepped closer, reaching a hand up to gently brush the dust away from their tags to reveal what they were. Her eyes lit up as she took hold of the bottle and turned her gaze around to find something else. After finally spotting a rag that appeared to be resting inside of a bucket, having been used for something else no doubt, she plucked it up and stepped out with it and the bottle. Casually Chise approached one of the statues around the front, eyeing it from top-to-bottom, side-to-side before she slowly rolled up her sleeves. Uncapping the bottle, she wrapped the rag around the top before tilting it sideward in a quick movement, holding it in place for a second before tilting back upright. She moved up to the statue, slowly placing the now slightly dampened cloth against the surface of the statue as she began to work in slow, circular patterns around it. It appeared to be buffing out the roughness of the stone the statues were made from, as if cutting through whatever dirt and chiseled surface there was and giving it a cleaner shine after the fact. It appeared the liquid she had found was some form of polish and sealant, which made quick work of the statues as she carefully and meticulously worked around every pattern and shape. After awhile, she stepped away, noting the shift in lighting from the sun having adjusted naturally in the sky, realizing that the day had gone by without her really noticing. She slowly lifted a sleeve, running it gently across her forehead to push away anything that may have gotten onto her face. "Mm.. much better." She hummed softly to herself as she looked over her work, turning her attention one direction then the other as she tried to see where Mirabelle might be now.

She slowly lifted a sleeve, running it gently across her forehead to push away anything that may have gotten onto her face. "Mm.. much better." She hummed softly to herself as she looked over her work, turning her attention one direction then the other as she tried to see where Mirabelle might be now.
This post begins the mission utilizing the following elements:
Fight an enemy much stronger than yourself (5)
Defeat a huge horde of undead without destroying the bodies. (5)
It seems she had no interest in hearing about her clan’s history – which isn’t surprising. Mirabelle wasn’t one to force people to listen to her stories truth be told, but it seems time like this it wasn’t necessary. The two of them began to clean the shrines together, leaving Chise to her own devices. She took a bucket, as she glanced around for a little bit before approaching the pipe nearby. Turning the tap, the pipe would turn on as freshwater from the rivers nearby streamed into the bucket. She was humming a song she liked ever since she was a child, one her mother used to sing to her and Isabelle to allow the kids to fall asleep. “Hmm I wonder…” she started to ponder for a bit before the bucket reached the desired amount. Once filled, she took some of the soap, pouring it in as the scent of apples and cherry blossoms filled the air around her, enlightening her senses. “Just right” she said as she took the bucket and got up.

She wasn’t paying much mind to Chise, seeing as she was within her own little world and bliss. She smiled, taking her hand as she guided the rag into the bucket. With a few dunks, she started to wash the statues of any grime and mold that might have built up in the time of her life. She was responsible for this shrine in particular – one she took care of on her own ever since she became one of the lead Shrine Maidens. Never the less, it wasn’t a big shrine like the others, thus it made things a lot easier to manage. Time went by as both girls continued to clean, however, her attention was diverted to the western side of the shrine.

Someone is approaching…” she said, sensing them. It was a Hayabusa by this remark of hers as she glanced over. Immediately the figure became more apparent. It was a male, accompanied by three other females. Mirabelle immediately knew who it was, one of her classmates named Tengen. “Yo! Long time no see” the man said, trying to approach her but she would pick up the broom and immediately shove it in front of her. “Move” she said, her Falcon Eyes triggering as they shifted into its menacing amber coloration. “You don’t belong here, leave this Shrine” she said to him. Tengen couldn’t help but give a sly smirk, inching closer as she leaned forward and pushed the broom aside.

Now now, no need to be hostile. I simply came to ask you to join my harem” he said, gesturing to the women behind him. “Three wives, and yet you want another. Aren’t you branch members not disgusted with yourselves?” Mirabelle said with a snide look in her eyes. One of the wives, named Makio approached. She was roughly the same height as Mirabelle as she stood there. “Don’t talk to my husband like that you hussy!” she said yelling, kunai drew in hand. Mirabelle didn’t flinch, she’s had to grow up with Makio since they where both kids. Former best friends actually, but it all went downhill when Tengen came into the picture.

Makio, I do believe you never did graduate past Jounin. Do you really believe you can beat me?
Pft what’s a Head Ninja gonna do, beat me over the head with a damn book?

The two shared glares until Tengen stepped in again. “Now now, no need to fight. While id love to come here and chat with you, I came with a message from the elders. It seems they recovered another relic, and they have summoned you back to the village. That’s all, I swear” Tengen said, leaning away while dragging Makio against her will too. Relics? Mirabelle was aware that the scholars of the clan are always seeking the knowledge of the older Hayabusa, finding scrolls and other artifacts revolving the long history of her people.

Very well” she said, her eyes returning to normal. “Chise, appreciate the assistance. However seems something has come up, I’ll be leaving for the village – you can accompany me if you’d like or continue to clean, I don’t mind either” she said smiling. She would approach Tengen, nodding to him. Immediately all of the Hayabusa disappeared in immediately as she dashed back towards the village.

What would normally take about a half an hour for normal people, it took a few minutes for the Hayabusa. After she reached back, she and the others appeared before the elder temple in the center of the town. There they kneeled, watching as some of the elders approached from out of the temple. “Ah” one of them said, as the elder council made their presence known.

Princess Mirabelle, it’s an honor to see you again” Elder Chiyo, one the eldest members of the clan spoke. She knew of Mirabelle and her other cousin's reputation, with Reborn Hayabusa being the current head of the clan and many others of the Dragon Lineage performing many feats. “Tengen Uzui Hayabusa, Makio Hayabusa, Hinatsu Hayabusa, and last but not least, Suma Hayabusa” Chiyo acknowledges all their names.

The council and I have summoned for you, Princess. It seems another relic had been uncovered” she relayed the news. Mirabelle would raise her head, looking at the elders. “I was told by Tengen. I’m assuming it belongs to someone of the Dragon Lineage?"

Indeed, it once belongs to your great-great-grandfather Shundai Hayabusa, but it was lost to time. Here now, we managed to find it, but it seems its power isn't responding to anyone else's…so perhaps you can try as well”

Yes, I will

She said in response, causing the elders to signal the underlings to bring forth the weapon. It was wrapped in cloth, but as they placed it before Mirabelle, she would take it off only to reveal a majestic golden bow. “Its…the Enki” she uttered, placing her hands closer to it. The bow would begin to glow softly, immediately responding to her presence. As she made contact with it, the bow’s soft glow bursts outward into a blinding one though only lasting a moment. As it cleared up, Mirabelle noticed the bow was gone. On her utter hand, was a new seal. One she never seen before, but she would place her hand out – calling forth to the seal. This causes the Enki to be returned back into the mortal plane and into her palm. “Amazing..." she uttered before sealing back.

Shūmatsu-yumi - Enki ∞ Enki: Bow of the End
Type: Weapon
Rank: S
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: N/A
Damage: N/A
Description: The "Enki" is a very powerful bow passed down through generations of the Hayabusa Clan. According to legends, it was first given to the first Hayabusa Leader by the Dragon God Priestess, Amaterasu. Its appearance is a pair of golden longswords interlocked together with one another to form a unique bow. It fires specially crafted arrows made of a flexible metal while at it's edging on either side are blades that allow the weapon to be swung in close range without sacrificing lethality. Mundane in appearance but extraordinary in combat, the Enki has a set of abilities that make it fitting of a gift from a Goddess. On the weapon are three seals that allow almost divine functionality: Hakai no Hoshi, Enpawaamento no Hoshi and Hoshi no Boukyaku. The swords can also detach in order to allow the user to wield them in combat like normal with the overall weapon when combined has a strength of S Rank, needing at least one S Rank to completely break them or two A Ranks. When separated, they are A Rank each and need one A Rank each to break them.

Hakai no Hoshi, Star of Destruction
By focusing chakra into this seal located on the aft side of the weapon, a readied arrow becomes shrouded in a unique, undulating barrier with the appearance of a drill. As the barrier spins it generates brilliant purple flames like that of Four Violet Flames Battle Encampment that burns very much like actual flames. However, this is a mere side effect. The barrier is of an extremely offensive nature who's ultimate purpose is to divide. The undulation, heat, plus shape of the barrier allows it to act similar to a hot knife, where it is able to pierce through techniques of equal and lesser rank easily to allow its payload to hit its target. If the barrier divides a technique of lesser rank than itself it will not weaken or lose speed. And once it reaches its target the barrier will explode in a short-ranged, purple maelstrom (A Rank). If it goes against a technique of equal rank though, it will split it apart, but be canceled in the process. The arrow in itself is highly lethal, and it is able to decapitate human-sized targets or even push back medium-sized summons entirely based on the force from which it is loosened from the Enki. This ability is A-ranked, and counts as an enhancement to an otherwise regular arrow. This ability is A-ranked, and counts as an enhancement to an otherwise regular arrow. This ability can be used once per turn, four times per battle , with a cooldown of two turns between each use.

Hoshi no Boukyaku, Star of Oblivion
The second seal, which is located directly in the midsection of the bow that is direct contact with the wielder's hand. When chakra is supplied to this seal the bow itself becomes alight with red flames created from a similarly flaring barrier. These flames, however, are cosmetic, and cannot harm the user nor anyone who touches the Enki. However, this barrier created around the weapon is not made so for offense, but rather defense using extensive malleability. This enhancement does not require an arrow to be readied, instead, the user will hold onto the harmless barrier and fire it like he would an arrow. The barrier will shape into an arrowhead while still being connected to Enki no matter the distance traveled. Once it connects with a target, the arrow will quickly engulf said target and seal it directly into the bow, using its connection as a conduit. Alternatively, any technique of equal or lesser rank that touches the Enki during this enhancement is able to be sealed too which allows it to be swung and used in close quarters. This ability is A-ranked and can affect techniques of equal and lesser rank. It can only be used once per turn, three times per battle with a cooldown of three turns each nor can it be used on living targets.

The third and final seal called Enpawaamento no Hoshi, which is actually located inside the weapon, is meant as a combination of the first two. When activated it will establish a connection to the second seal, Hoshi no Boukyaku, and initiate an unsealing process. For every technique successfully absorbed, Enpawaamento no Hoshi's damage will be increased by +10 in an act of maximum overkill, however, this caps at +20 Damage. Just like Hakai no Hoshi, an undulating barrier with the appearance of a piercing drill will cover a readied arrow. However, this barrier will be a crimson red as well as the flames generated. Once fired, the act alone will send shockwaves throughout the air and ground while the projectile itself leaves a magnificent trail of red in its wake like the tail of a comet. The chakra supplied for this seal is that of an A-ranked technique. This allows the barrier created to split apart techniques of A ranked and below and requires a three-turn cooldown each time performed, with it only be able to be used twice per battle. Once performed the absorbed techniques counter resets to zero.

Apart from the activation of these seals, the user is able to release up to three regular arrows a turn that is freeform each but do not count toward the jutsu usage limit i.e free form. The Enki can also be called forth from a fourth, lesser-known seal similar to Lightning Blade Creation Technique on the user's body and likewise be sealed away at any time. Doing so will not cost a move or impede on timeframe. When preparing to fire an arrow, golden chakra bowstring is formed passively and is merely cosmetic.

Princess, it seems it belongs to you now…but we also have a mission for you to be assigned. There have been sightings of a Child of Tiamat roaming near the northern coastline, find it, and eradicate it. Tengen will assist you and be your bodyguard on this trip. Don’t falter now, Princess Mirabelle” Chiyo said, bowing to her as the council heads back into the temple.

Well then, shall we?
Ya, ladies you will remain here. We’ll handle this

Tengen ordered to his wives as they nodded in response. She would wait a little bit however to catch her breath before heading out. She wondered what Chise will do in this situation.

Tengen ordered to his wives as they nodded in response. She would wait a little bit however to catch her breath before heading out. She wondered what Chise will do in this situation.
Chise had set her gaze upon Mirabelle just in time to notice her breathe a shallow "Someone is approaching..." This was initially somewhat difficult

for her to hear from the distance she was at, yet she managed to piece it together fairly quickly, though remained uncertain if she had heard her right at all. With a slow approach, she eventually turned to see the approaching entourage with a single man centered among the group, clearly the "head" of this particular snake that had shown itself, of which Chise noticed that Mirabelle was hardly happy to see them. Once they had shown up and began making a rather loud commotion, Chise made it a point to quicken her step to bring herself nearer to Mirabelle's location sooner, now standing just behind and to the side of her at the same moment that the group had made their final forward steps in front of her. She eyed the somewhat passive-aggressive interaction between them go back and forth like something of a scene from a showdown script one can read about in entertainment. She could feel the tension heightening rather quickly; thick enough that she could nearly cut it with a knife. Just as she was about to put herself between Mirabelle and the other woman that had began to bark hostilities toward her and started to step forward as if to escalate, the other woman was stopped and made to pull back as the group began to leave after having delivered their message to Mirabelle.
Chise, appreciate the assistance. However seems something has come up, I’ll be leaving for the village – you can accompany me if you’d like or continue to clean, I don’t mind either way.” Chise blinked as she turned her emerald gaze up toward Mirabelle, moving to offer a nod as her lips parted to speak shortly after. "Ah. Right.. You go on ahead, I'll clean up here and catch up in a bit." She hummed softly as she watched Mirabelle begin to rush off almost immediately after she had responded. With that, she quickly utilized her chakra to rush through her clothing, reshaping the fabrics to the reflection of her attire she wore just prior to changing into the shrine clothing, utilizing the device that she had been given by Mirabelle earlier that day. Afterward, she quickly rushed around the shrine yard, collecting the tools and equipment they had been using throughout the day to clean up the shrine, returning them to the shed in the back before she quickly began her rush off the grounds and began to make her way toward the central point of the village, where she suspected all of the clan members were gathering for what Mirabelle had been called back for in the first place.

Upon arrive, Chise quickly stopped herself just outside of the entrance of the Temple, panting rather heavily she planted a hand along the door frame to support herself, slowly leaning up in a straightened posture as she took a slow, careful deep breath before exhaling it a moment later, collecting herself before she entered just in time to hear them discussing the origin of the relic, addressing Mirabelle as "Princess" and explaining to her whom the relic once belonged to among other details relating to it. Chise stood at a careful distance, making sure she didn't make her presence

too prominent in the event that was taking place, keeping herself off to the side as she watched silently and curiously. After Mirabelle had taken hold of the relic and conjured it's power into a manifested state, Chise's emerald eyes slowly widened in a moment of awe; it was quite beautiful, and rather amazing to look at. To think that something like that had been simply "laying around" for so long before it was rediscovered and brought back to the hands of the one who could harness it. Suddenly, the elders whom had been conversing with her up until now all began to filter back into the central interior of the Temple while one remained to give Mirabelle a mission, it seemed. "There have been sightings of a Child of Tiamat roaming near the northern coastline, find it, and eradicate it. Tengen will assist you and be your bodyguard on this trip.
" Chise blinked a few times as she heard reference to a "bodyguard." She slowly shifted her gaze around from side-to-side, only to center back on the conversation that had naturally lulled to a conclusion as the final clan head returned to the Temple as well. Was he.. referring to her? With a slow shake of her head, she opted to dismiss it as a mere misunderstanding, especially on her own part. If Mirabelle truly was a Princess of this clan, then no doubt she truly had bodyguards as well, so surely they were whom the elder was referring to. As Mirabelle addressed the man from earlier, recognizing that his name was Tengen, and was meant to be the one to accompany her on a mission, Chise slowly approached from the sidelines now that the formalities had seemingly finished, taking her place beside Mirabelle. "Uhm. Will you be needing any help, Mira-Sensei? I'm not exactly sure what I'll be able to do, but if you think I can make a difference, then please let me."

Mirabelle’s ears would slightly perk upwards, hearing the arrival of Chise She turned to meet her gaze, wondering just how long she’s been there. It didn’t matter as much, as she sighed looking at Tengen. He would shrug a bit, knowing this isn’t his business but still managed to get a few words in. “See, this is why we keep outsiders, out” he said to the point. He didn’t want to have to babysit not only the princess but also babysit her guest. He however had a code of conduct as a man, thus he would do anything to ensure the safety of Chise as well.

Never the less, your Princess Mira’s guest – thus making you VIP for the time being. I’m Tengen, though you’ve probably learned this by now. I’ve already recorded your heartbeat, so I knew you were here the whole time” he said to Chise. He was an impressive Sound Ninjutsu user after, being named “Voice of the Dragon” or even the “Sound Pillar”. Mirabelle would shift her clothing, taking on another look as she reached into her tool kit and got a hair tie. Placing it up in one long ponytail she turned to Tengen

Chise will be coming with us, I know Granny Chiyo wants you to protect me but she will need it more than me
I figured that would be the case, count on my Himesama
Chise, this is a very possible and dangerous mission…I want you to be aware of anything and everything going on…or else you can end up getting hurt or killed. I’ll be watching over you, I promise

She said, making sure her sister is in good hands. “Let’s move” she said, with Tengen grabbing Chise and holding her in princess fashion as they both body flickered away. It took a while, but at the end of the travel, they managed to stop in a tree nearby as Tengen heard some noises in the direction Chiyo tipped them off about.

Unfamiliar voices not too far from here…about forty unique voices…yea this is them
Good, Chise lets hit em together. Get ready for a hard fight

Mirabelle said as she was prepared for it. Tengen was as well of course.

This message marks the beginning of my mission using the following storyboard elements:
  • Fight an enemy much stronger than yourself. (S-rank)
  • Save a large community from danger. (S-rank)
  • Guard someone very important. (S-rank)
  • Defeat a huge horde of undead without destroying the bodies. (S-rank)

Chise's emerald gaze shifted only momentarily to eye the comments hurled toward her by the other Hayabusa clan member. The suggestion that she was unwelcome, despite being there with Mirabelle was all too clear, yet somehow it didn't quite shove her too far in any one particular direction. It was all things she had heard before and far worse at that, so it hardly impacted her anymore. More than anything, she was concerned for being a burden upon Mirabelle; not only being potentially incapable of aiding her in the fight to come, but also being a hindrance on her social standing with the clan while Chise was there with her. None of that had the opportunity to be quite so relevant at the moment though, given the new urgency and focus directed toward that of the supposed "Child of Tiamat" that was to be their opponent. Throughout the course of the virus that had been spreading around the known world and her inquiries into it's origins and what caused it, she had heard amidst the rumors talk of Tiamat; a Primordial being of divine origination that had left a drastic mark on the world not long ago after having been reborn and began the process of spreading her "Sea of Life" that seemingly tainted all things that it touched. She had little for personal reference to what all of this meant or was, yet she knew just enough to recognize the urgency of this threat they were about to face.

Chise listened intently to the talk she was being given by Mirabelle regarding the threat that lied ahead. Everything she spoke, Chise had already considered to some degree or another, yet she held fast and to attention, hoping to take in every point made, if for nothing else but to reassure Mirabelle that she was paying attention. Just after she had been briefed, she moved to follow Mirabelle, only for her to abruptly be swept off of her feet and pulled into the arms of the man attending them. She let out a slight, surprised yelp as she tucked her arms into her chest instinctively, eyeing the man with a blinking, confused expression before they simultaneously stretched from visible existence for a brief instance before reappearing with feet on a thick branch of a tree at the location that they were told to begin their search; or perhaps "hunt" was a more appropriate term.

Chise had slowly crawled out of the man's arms as she recomposed herself, turning her attention toward her surroundings in careful analysis of everything that was around them. She made it a point to carefully assess all of the natural elements that were nearby; any bodies of water or sources of minerals. Possible cliff sides and potential caverns or canyons beneath them that might be utilizable as a means to disrupt the balance of the field in their favor. The moment she heard the declaration from Tengen of the presence of the enemy nearby, Chise quickly adjusted her focus forward in the same pinpointed direction as the other two, emerald eyes fixated sharply, waiting anxiously for even the slightest movement of anything visible to tip off the first approach. "I'm ready, Mira-Sensei.. Please do not worry about me. I came to help, so I plan to do my best."
