Naruto's strategic abilities are always downplayed within the manga and in the fandom. He's used his cunning and devious traits to outsmart many opponents.

This is a great example along with his fight with Pain (before kyuubi explosion) and his fight with the edo third raikage.

Overlooked?! That's the only decent original Naruto strategy I can think of on top my head. This technique can fool some genin, chunin and low jonin level ninja but that's all.

also "Fart no jutsu" was a far better strategy against Kiba's sensitive nose.

Proves Naruto isn't stupid. But doesn't work against a Sharingan User like Madara and can't work against someone you can't touch like Obito. Say, why was Transformation and Substitution Jutsu forgotten? They're more OP then they sound..
