Overall was edo tensei a good thing or a bad thing? Both from writer and viewer

Yes it killed many shinobi in the 1st and 4th great ninga war. It gave the 3rd hokage a hard time but proved a great assetwhen orochimaro revived the hokage at the end of the series providing Naruto the other half of nine tails??? Edo tensei also may have been bad as a deadly weapon but gave us a far more interesting war compared to it just being zetsu versus great nations?

Morally? It's a depraved jutsu for people with no standards and a lot of hard-work and intelligence. It was also a payoff for intelligence and cunning to make a comeback in this manga rather than simple chakratanks, kekkai genkai and free power-ups.

It led to some really good mythos, even if it was done half-heartedly.
