Out of the sudden, all the room broke loose. The walls vanished. The mood poped. The air became bright again. There were no warehouse. They were standing on a beach. The girl of his dreams stood up, in light breezy white clothes. Her tan body contrasted with her amazingly light eyes. She approahed him, gently. The waves hit her anckles softly, as she floated through the white sand. She leanned over and passed her arms around his neck
A police car parked outside, with the lights lit. In few seconds, 2 cops kicked the door open and entered the room. Jake oppened his eyes and looked around.
Jake - Maddie?
He heard her sigh on a corner. She was slowly waking up.
Jake - Are you alright?
He sweaped some of the blood lost on the corners of his mouth. She was safe...
The cops roamed around the room. One of them kneeled close to Maddie's father.
Cop - He's breathing...
The other cop looked to Jake and ducked.
Cop - What happened here, boy? Are you alright?
Jake - Yes...
He tried to stand up but a deep pain shot from his ribs.
Cop - Don't move, lad.
Cop - I'm gonna call the paramedics.
He left the room. Meanwhile, the other cop was still loking at Jake.
Jake - That ... man, is Maddie's father...
He turned his head to her, behind him.
Jake - She used to be abused and hit by him... Until she got away. But today he found her again, and took her here. We had to help her...
Cop - Don't you worry. You're fine now. Are you Michael or Jacob?
Jake - I'm Jacob... Michael is over there. I think he is badly hurt.
Cop - And the girl?
Jake used the wall as a support and sit more straight up, ignoring the pain.
Jake - She just passed out...
The cop stood up and walked to her, while the other came in again.
Cop - Ok, they're here in 5 minutes. Miller! Help out with this one.
They approached the man's body and lift him up, putting handcufs on his wrists.
Cop - We'll be right back.
Jake used the wall as a guiding and turned the corner, getting closer to her. He had defeated him. There was no danger anymore. But still, Jake was ver very nervous. He hesitated for a second, but got closer.
Maddie - Jake...?
His heart felt on the ground... She was there, calling for him.
Jake - I'm...hum... I'm here.
She tried to sit more straight, and a pure smile was on her face.
Maddie - I was so worried...
Jake -There's no need anymore... everything is fine now...
She released a suttle laugh. His heart filled with joy and love.
Maddie - Thank you Jake.. But there's something I'd like to do...
He couldn't take anymore excitement. He just stutter in his place, while she leaned closer. After a cute little smirk, she whispered.
Maddie - You're such nerd..
And their lips joinned. It was the best sensation in the whole world. His feet flew away, his hands floated, his body soared. There was an ambulance on the street. There was light everywhere. Blues, reds... The paramedics barged in. But their lips were closed. They were kissing!
Mike, woke from his dream. Why did he dreamt of Maddie? From over the shoulders of the paramedics, he saw Jake and Maddie kissing. Jake was his best friend and he finally got what he wanted. Everything was so great now. Why isn't he happy? And why did he dreamt of her?
