Yeah, they need 300 Byakuga's in order to create a Tenseigan, where as an Uchiha, your eyes can become stronger through strong emotional pain and hatred. The Hyuga will always be fodder to the Uchiha.

The Ōtsutsuki family, the Juubi, it was all a bad idea. I had no issues with the introduction of the Rikudō Sennin, but as soon as Kaguya, his sons, the Juubi and the concepts of reincarnation and transmigration were introduced, the manga was in a place it shouldn't have been. Not only did the reincarnation and transmigration concepts clash with the main character's ideals and background, it destroyed what could have been a great arc.

I should've been more clear with the Juubi. I don't really mind the existence of the Juubi either, I had a problem with the way it turned out to be another tie to Kaguya and the Tsuki no Me. If it was just a massive beast that needed to be defeated, sure. That's fine. But if it turns into a massive tree that is the origin of all chakra and bears fruit for an alien to eat and take over the planet? No thanks.

Kaguya and all the plot points surrounding her just felt awkward. If she was that powerful, shouldn't there have been a legend about her, too? I just can't be convinced that this was not thrown together at the last minute.

Looking back, it seems that Kaguya was created solely to justify the plot of the movie, which makes sense.

Hm.. the Ootsutsuki, especially Hamura, Kaguya, Toneri and the other idiots were completely not needed.
The story would still be okay if Juubi just remained as just the angry god tree.. and the Rikudou Sennin (as a normal human) ate the fruit to save the world.. and then using the obtained chakra to create "Ninshuu" what was meant to connect peoples hearts.
The story about his sons being the ancestors of Uchiha and Senju, with their recurring feud, also was a great idea. But Kishis pants got wet in the final arc because he was obsessed to include aliens in his ninja-manga, so that we have a DBZ 2.0.. only worse.
