Have you ever noticed things in naruto fights that may either directly or indirectly reference other fictional media? I don't just mean religion or mythology.
For example, in Naruto's fight with Neji, someone noticed that one of its scenes mimiced Spike Speigel's fight with Vincent in the Cowboy Bebop movie. It's also said that Lee and Gai were designed after Bruce Lee.
Upon rewatching and rereading the sasori fight, I think I noticed a few I didn't see before.
First is Sakura's use of her catch phrase "shannaro" when she grabs Sasori's rope. When this scene was subbed and dubbed in the anime, it translated to, "Come here!" or "Get over here!" Lol, I immediately remembered Scorpion's iconic catch phrase from the Mortal Kombat series and his own rope tail. Furthermore, Sasori is japanese for Scorpion.
In the next one, two of Sasori's hundred puppets possessed two uncanny weapons that caught my eye. One took the shape of Ichigo's chopper Zangetsu and the puppet right next to it had a scythe lols.
And finally, Chiyo's ten puppets referenced Monzaemon Chikamatsu, the most revered playwright in Japanese History.
