im wondering who's the mask guy itachi asked for help to kill his clan.. in this chapter

itachi stated that madara or should i say tobi knows what happened the night he wipe away his clan but in this chapter

itachi asked for help with this mask guy.. who is he? is that mean there's who people behind the mask? it looks like tobi is the one who attacked konoha 16 years ago but there's a confusion between these two chapters..

the point is why itachi would think if tobi knows about the attack if he asked for help with the same guy?
