The SO6P will be referred to as "Sage" or "father". The eldest son will be referred to as "Uchiha" and the younger will be referred to as "Senju".

This day was both a sad one and a significant one for the Sage and his two sons. It hadn't been long since he defeated the demon known as the Ten-Tails and sealed the beast within himself. But now, his life was coming to an end, much to his regret. He sat in his room, half his body covered in a black blanket. "Looks I won't see the nations at peace after all." He thought shedding a tear.

He lied down, staring at the ceiling. In his stillness, he could feel the beast raging against its cage, flailing around in desperate joy like a dog about to released for its first meal. "I just wanted there to be peace in the world." He muttered. He smiled, "There will be peace, I'm just not meant to see it." He propped himself up and readjusted his covers, "I will make certain that peace is attainable."

The Sage knew his power could bring peace, but he needed to lock his power away to be awakened when the vessel realized his ideals. Now there was just one question left the Sage needed to answer, "Who shall bear the burden of being the vessel of my will and power?" One of his sons of course, but which one? "Uchiha! Senju! Come join me!"

***P.O.V. changes to First-Person: Uchiha***

My brother, Senju, and I were training in the living room. We had been training with each other non-stop since our father became weak. Although Senju and I were mourning his inevitable death-to-come, we knew we couldn't let grief stop us. Our father was the Sage who brought temporary peace to the world by defeating their common enemy, the Ten-Tails, however, people soon became their own enemies. When our father passed, it would fall on our shoulders to carry on his will.

"Brother!" Senju called out to me, "What do you think the Juubi was like?" I got on the wooden floor to do some push-ups, "A beastly thing, I imagine." "I heard father say that a single roar from the monsters mouth created storms and summoned whirlwinds!" "Perhaps it did", I said grunting, "But it still wasn't enough to beat father." "That's right!" Senju agreed. He began doing push-ups with me. I finished my set, as he began. I sat up, "Little brother." He stopped for a moment, and looked at me, then he continued, "What's up?" "We will continue father's legacy together." He nodded as he finished his set and sat up across from me. "You and I", he said smiling, "We're going to bring true peace to the shinobi world, for father." I gave him a stern, "Hmmm" in compliance, "Yeah, because we're a team."

We heard father call us. We both rushed into his room, got our knees parallel to each other, facing father, and bowed to him. "Face me." He said sternly. We sat up. I knew he was about to tell us something important, I just knew. "What is it father?" I asked. He sighed, "You two know I'm not going to live for much longer." I glanced out the corner of my eye at Senju, whose eyes were in the floor. He was frowning. I remained attentive, "Yes sir! We know very well." I placed my left fist on my chest, in front of my heart so father would take my words with deadly seriousness, "We've been training non-stop, we're going to gain the power to carry on your legacy and achieve true peace!"

Father nodded with a sincere smile, "I believe you." His smile faded. Which is why I'm bequeathing you two with my powers.

My eyes grew large. "Father..." I had no words to describe how I felt. My brother cried, knowing this was end of our beloved father. I held my brother, trying to calm him. "However!" father said with a strict and commanding tone, "Only one you will receive my title. Only one of you will become 'The Sage of the Six Paths'. Understand?" We both straightened up and nodded, "Yes sir!" Something in my mind went off, "How would he choose? In kingdoms, the elder receives the rites, true?" Father took a swallow of hot tea and cleared his throat. I listened carefully.

"You are both my sons, and I love you equally, however my decision will be based, not on age, skill, or knowledge. I will make my decision based on the answer the following question."

"A question?" I thought. Senju looked just as puzzled, "What possible question could he ask?" "What's the question, father?" Senju asked. Father closed his eyes and tried to stave off the look of weakness on his face that his age plagued him with. "I want you two to think about this question. I will give you ample time to think of an answer." It was silent for what seemed to be several minutes. I patiently, yet eagerly awaited the question.

Father opened his eyes and asked us, "What is the way to establishing peace across the world?"

"That's it?", I thought, "That is the question?" My brother and I stared at each other. "Uchiha, when you are ready, you will answer the question first. Just speak when you have an answer." I thought and thought. I wanted to give him an answer that made him see me as mature and experienced. My father was able to bring the world this far because of the power and influence he held. "That's it...that's my answer." I thought. "I have an answer father!" He nodded, allowing me to speak further. I took a deep breath. "Power is the way to achieve peace, I believe!" Father said nothing back. He just nodded. He sighed and said, "I understand."

"What about you Senju?" he said looking to my younger brother. I looked at him too, he looked back at me, then back at father. He looked nervous. He was sweating. His short, spiky, black hair began to unfurl with sweat. He gulped, swallowing his anxiety and said, "I believe the way to achieve peace is Love." After a brief silence. Father gave Senju the same gesture as he did me. I respected my brother's answer, I even smiled, thinking, "That's just like him, he's still too young."

"Very well. I will now bequeath you two with my powers." We both stood up, at attention.

Father stood up and made his way to my younger brother. He put his hands over Senju's heart and a white aura flowed from my father's body, to Senju's body. When the aura vanished, our father spoke, "I have given you life force and physical energy. The way you have chosen is long and hard and will seem impossible at times. I have given you a means to see this road through to its end. You will be strong my son." My brother nodded, wiping the tears from his eyes and embraced father. I smiled too and gave my brother a thumbs up when he looked at me.

Father then made his way towards me. As he approached me, I saw something in his eyes; a sadness I couldn't understand. He put his hands on my shoulders. Then his hands clasped the top of my head and made their way down over my eyes. His eyes blocked my vision, but I could feel my dad pouring his energy into me. He removed his hands, "What did he do?", I thought. "My son, my eldest, Uchiha. I have given you my powerful chakra and spiritual energy. The way you have chosen is dangerous and can be abridged in an instant, it is possible that you will change over the course of your mission. I have given you the eyes to see the way, and wisdom to understand and seek knowledge. You will be wise my son." "Yes sir, thank you father." I said as I bowed.

Father returned to his original position. He sat down and dismissed us. "I must congregate with my thoughts and feelings on this final, imperative decision." We left and returned to the training room.

As we entered, my brother embraced me abruptly. I was caught off guard, but I embraced him back. He said, "No matter what happens, brother, we're still going to be a team." I nodded, "Yes brother. We will attain peace together." My brother began pacing the room. He was nervous. Senju was strong, but I could tell he the responsibility was beyond his contemplation. I sat calmly, knowing that this burden would have to fall on my shoulders. I was ready and willing to accept it for the sake of my father, my brother, and the world.
