orocimaru and minato

let me make this thread as quick as possible, from the last chapter it seems like minato sees himselve as failure. So my quetion is this, oro being his contender for the 4th hokage title do you think oro would have done something better than what minato did on the night of the attack, or was there any other living shinobi at that particular time that would have done anything better..

Definitely would've been able to defend the leaf better tho I'm talking about with the amount of jutsu he has now )10,000) there's no way to know how strong oro was before I'm guessing he was still stronger then jariya cuz jariya tried to bring oro back forcefully (like naruto and sasuke) and failed miserably and he was ahead of minato in terms of who gets to be hokage

As with anything hypothetical it could have went different, since we don't really know a whole lot about Oro's experiments or how long he's been at them we don't know when he acquired Senju DNA. If he had Senju DNA at the time he was passed over for Hokage then more than likely he could have beat Kurama easier. That is assuming Oro wanted everyone to realize he has Senju DNA which he probably wouldn't and he may not use it to fight Kurama. It's impossible to know whether Oro would have faired better against Kurama than Minato but he definitely would have been a more feared/less respected Hokage within Konoha than Minato.

Also some will say since Oro lost to 4-tail Naruto that he would do worse than Minato but you have to calculate he fought with damaged arms and he fought NARUTO, the hero of the show, of course he was going to lose.

I think the interesting thing to think of is, "would Oro still have sealed Kurama in a host and who would he choose? Would it still be Naruto or would it be himself or an Uchiha so he could steal the body later?"

Orochimaru could take on Kurama, he even could've held his own against Obito [slim chances] but that incident was Obito + Kurama and I son't think Orochimaru who lacks S/T could've done what Minato did.

However if you change the opponent then perhaps Orochimaru can do even better! It all depends on match-ups

He was like this well before the 4th hokage was chosen, and that is why Hiruzen chose Minato over Orochimaru.

I don't think Ororchimaru would of been as selfless as Minato was.

I think that everyone forgets that the third was there also with what happened. he supposedly had all the jutsus ( thousands) of the village and the minato gave his life for his son and the entire village.

Minato didnt WANT to kill Kyubi, otherwise he'd have done so, he wanted the balance to be restored, thats why he sealed it...
as far as ur question is concerned, no oro couldnt have done better than minato, no one else could've done it....

No one else beside tobirama could have done what minato did.

Orochimarus base summons would have gotten owned and so would have manda. His rashamon defense was shown to get obliterated by a tailed beast bomb at 4 tails. I don't see orochimaru lasting longer than 10 minutes.

orochimaru could never use senju dna back then or even now until he took zetsus body as he never finished his experiments and he didnt get the dna from yamato as i believe orochimaru thought none of the experiments survived

Hiruzen was doing a lot, he actually fought Kurama a lot longer than Minato did, he can't prevent damage as well as Minato did because he's not a S/T user, but he def did a lot against Kurama.
