So I'm wondeirng if other people have noticed this. Starting in early part 2, Orochimaru's voice actor has slowly gotten worse as the series goes on. Maybe it's because she's getting older, smoking too much, not putting as much effort in, maybe all of the above. I don't know. But in my opinion the change makes his character lose a lot of impact, and it's a shame because he used to be one of my favorite voices.

If you haven't noticed the difference, just compare his voice in this weeks episode 349, to this episode from part 1:

Too bad, Orochimaru's voice is one of my favorites. Both in the English and Japanese.

Steve Blum is fantastic as Orochimaru.

OT: haven't noticed a difference, but I've only watched his resurrection episode once. It was disappointing. I usually watch dubs.

All english voices are annoying IMO.

The reason why the voice in part 1 was better is because the scene was more tense and high motion. Orochimaru talking to Danzo like a normal person doesn't require the voice actor to use that tense and raspy voice

I wouldn't say *all*. They are certainly rare, but there are actors out there that can compete with their Japanese counterparts. You probably just haven't watched a quality dub yet, simply because there aren't enough of them out there.

I dont think quality english voice actors are rare at all.

Just go watch a cartoon. That is english voice actors. And most of it sounds just right.

The problem is, that ANIME voice dubs are usually poorer in quality. The actors may even have matching voices(that fit the character). Its just they have bad acting.

So there are plenty of quality english voice actors that could compete with the japanese actors. Its just they are rarely in the animes.(it seems)

Kid goku, and roshi were examples of pretty good voice acting in the anime.

The avatar series, were proof that you can have quality voice acting in a anime(because the main difference between a cartoon and anime, (besides artwork(which doesnt matter for voice acting)), is the themes they have.(and the plot line. Many cartoons are just there for you to watch another episode. They dont have a plot.(ex. family guy. The simpsons. Etc.)
