Yeah, the Senju DNA slipped my mind.

Guess it could work. Though didn't he only get the Senju DNA because of transferring to a Zetsu body? This theory would bank on the fact that Orochimaru, prior to taking over a Zetsu, would want to go get the sharingans.

True, but if Orochimaru decided to further explore the hideout, he would not only obtain those sharingan, but with Hashirama's clone, he could create his own Zetsu army.

I've never understood why he didn't just get them implanted like Kakashi and Danzo. especially since we know he had dealings with Obito and co
