My favorite character has always intrigued me
But Oro is a scientist. i can only compare him to Captain kurosuchi from bleach and stein from soul eater
The primary reason oro fled the village was that His research had been interrupted
Its also safe to assume he had edo tensei and living corpse reincarnation under his belt
But Oros most famous experiment was definitely his experimentation on Hashirama's DNA
The fruits of his labors was danzou (who was also an experiment with sharingan) and Captain Yamato
Now I've hypothesised in the past that Oro (through living corpse reincarnation) has the abilties to use kkgs of the body he is currently in possession of. (my proof is that itachi kimimaru and sasuke were all three candidates for oros next body)
Oro wasn't just creating a ninja with mokuton but he was creating his next host.
Further evidence for his interest in the sage is that Orochimaru has never (seemed) to have interest in jinchurikis. even though he had the best opportunity out of anyone who targeted naruto, too capture him. but he just through him away. for sasuke.
Im guessing the only reason Oro joined the Akatsuki was the Rinnegan. He left though because he couldnt beat itachi. so he left.
Orochimaru also prepared madaras edo tensei (i still have my doubts kabuto did it on his own)
and as kabuto stated they theorized Sharingan's next evolution.
Orochimaru has always shown interest in two Kekkei Genkei: Sharingan and Mokuton
and we know that sharingan and mokuton were passed down through the elder and younger sons respectively
So I believe Oro's ultimate goal lies in rinnegan all he needs now is a set of eyes
