ya but its cuz the akatsuki were originally ment to be like freaks and then kishi changed his mind but that is why we have oro and zetsu and kisame

But it makes sense why Zetsu is a plant hes made entirely of Hasirama's cells Mokuton -> tree -> Plant -> Zetsu

Well I don't think Orochimaru was born with the purple marks around his eyes and stuff. Maybe they are markings that his clan members wore? Possible his parents and him were the last remaining members of their clan and once they did it was just Orochimaru.
