Orochimarus motives

What do you think are Orochimarus motives to destroy konoha? Could it be for a greater good, or significant personal gain?

I think it has something to do with Root. Maybe they killed his parents and Hiruzen was the one who issued the order or something like that.

All i hope for is for more information on Kishi's part, he never really reveals much information on his characters, he should probably do that after the main story ends.

I don't know. I recall reading a theory stating that Orochimaru's mannerisms in attacking Hiruzen are similar to Itachi when he slayed his parents. The theory maker suggested it was either a root order or a KA-induced mission.

A cool idea, I personally would prefer something a tad more sinister though. But I wouldn't doubt that theory considering how Orochimaru is turning out.
