[Discussion] Orochimaru's faith in Sasuke's potential

I was going back reading past chapters and I came across this page.

Even back in part one Orochimaru had such a keen interest in Sasuke and his eyes. This was before Sasuke even hit 3T and already he noted that Sasuke's eyes had a potential power that could surpass Itachi. This was not EMS, but some latent ability hidden within Sasuke's eyes. This power that Orochi that Orochi foresaw in part one is probably the reason that he thinks Sasuke hasn't hit his max. I wonder what this power is???
Any suggestions?

Logically speaking Sasuke's eyes have been foreshadowed to become 1# in the NV.
Orochimaru first Stated they would surpass Itachi
Then that he would surpass Madara.
Even the Elder Toad out of the many foes that Naruto would face with powerful eyes the only one notable for prediction was Sasuke.
Sasuke might actually obtain eyes that > Madara's Rinnengan

I think it's just wishful thinking on his part. Other than PS I don't see Sasuke unlocking some hax doujutusu technique.

Well, that would be fine if Orochimaru was just a person, but it Kishi that made him say it, therefore there must have meaning behind it if he thought it was worthy of putting it in the manga.

It's kinda like how saying Naruto planned in the beginning to surpass all other Kage. Even if he did get the other half of the Kyuubi chakra, I don't see him beating Hashi, but I know he will cuz Kishi found it worth stating.

I agree to disagree. Even with Naruto saying what he said about surpassing the previous Hokages that may not happen either. The second, third and fourth Hokages , yea, he surpassed them. Hashirama still appears to be above him.

Well, seeing how we talking about the future direction of the manga it's understandable for some ideas to seem a bit iffy. I don't think that Sasuke and Naruto will become stronger than the opposition because the whole underdog sensation is important in manga, but at this point since Madara his no choice, but to up the danger, because he currently is worse condition than Obito was when he was villain so Madara will have to surpass Obito's act as villain. This means that Naruto and Sasuke will have to improve in order to compete. Especially since Madara has such an easy way of sealing away the Edo Kages

Oro did not see a specific power unique to sasuke he was speaking in the broadest terms.

I do remember about someone on these forums talking about Time Manipulation. I don't like the idea, but the suggestion is still valid.

PS:

It's true, It's foreshadowed that Sasuke would become the #1 in Narutoverse in terms of battle. But that's counter productive if the series talks about a kid who wants to reach peace using all the faith people put in him (Naruto).

I'm still betting Sasuke will become the #1 temporarily, but his position won't last for long. He is destined to be defeated by the hero of this story, one that aside... already defeated him in terms of the sense of how to be a shinobi.

Sasuke true power is still a mystery. We know he's become more proficient with the Eternal, while using Amaterasu his eye doesn't bleed anymore, he was able to mold Enton in his hand, now he's manifested a full body Susano'o. Itachi's Tsukuyomi is what he has yet to show us I believe that ability lies a power Sasuke has not tapped into yet. Also Kabuto originally wanted Sasuke to learn all things about Ninjutsu, cannot wait for what Sasuke has instored for us.

No I think that Sasuke will have the strongest ocular doujutsu in NV not him being strongest. Still even if it is just the Rinnengan that is still a huge boost and he may master it better than Madara and Nagato.

He HAS the potential to surpass Madara, and the best way to achieve this is to use something that is SPECIALIZED and DIRECTLY RELATED to the Uchiha Clan Bloodline. I think Madara will never be able to use all the powers of the Rinnegan, since needs something that doesn't truly belongs to him... Senju DNA.

This only thing is I am not entirely sure the doujutsu of the elder son's eyes actually exist. For a while I just thought it was a poorly drawn Rinnengan.
