Orochimaru would have failed (The real reason he gave up.)

Weren't Orochimaru's original plans to take Sasuke's body, therefore obtaining a bidy suitable to posses Sharingan? He would have failed even if he took Sasuke's body, as the main strength of an Uchiha is there eyes and not there body. The reason Orochimaru wanted Kimimaro's body was because he was the last of his clan, who inherited the extremely strong body of the Sage of Six Paths. Orochimaru should have taken Kimimaro's body but missed his chance. However, being that he is an Uchiha and his strengths are focused on his eyes and not his body, if Orochimaru took his body then he wouldn't have been able to sustain the body for long. Like his other bodies, Sasuke's would have showed signs of structural instability and slowly deteriorated, causing Orochimaru to need a new body. Coming to this realization, Orochimari realized his mistakes and gave up on his pursuit for Sasuke when he was revived.


Orochimaru would have benefitted more from stealing a strong body like a Senju or Uzumaki's :sdo:

What exactly does this have to do with what I said? Orochimaru's original plans were to steal Sasuke's body, and even if he succeeded he wouldn't have it for long. Whether he has a strong life force or not isn't a factor, if Sasuke's body isn't strong enough then it woun't remain stable for long. Like all of his previous bodies, Sasuke's would eventually decay resulting in Orochimaru needing a new body. This is supported by the fact that Uchiha's strengths focus on their eyes rather than their bodies. If Orochimaru wanted a solid, strong and long lasting body then he should have went for someone whose inherited a strong body like a Senju, Kaguya or Uzumaki. He even did go for a Kaguya, but because of his greed for power he changed his mind and went for Sasuke in pursuit of the sharingan. He took eyes over body.
