Haha i'm pretty sure its safe to say we can all agree that any form of genocide is wrong. But in the case of the village a conflict of some kind was inevitable so they chose to take action before things got out of control. There was to much distrust between the Uchihas and the village for there to be any meaning behind talks of peace. They simply did what they thought they had to do for the betterment of the village. Its obviously not the right thing to do but that distrust was so ingrained in their society that there werent many other options. Thats just my take although i doubt that will change your opinion at all.
Distrust on which basis? Tobirama was the one who started the fire. Who is more responsible for the destruction of Konoha? Konoha and its skewed policies, or the people that became the victims?
