There is such thing as redemption. If Orochimaru turns good then he can do what he needs to do and pay for what he has done later.

It's the exact same thing in the court system...if you admit you did something wrong, or if you did something about it, your punishment is probably not going to be as severe.

He seemed nostalgic and reflective when he talked with Suigetsu. It is possible that, while not exactly becoming "good" in the sense of helping old people over the street, he will help the alliance.

I would be very much surprised if he turns good. The only person who could talk sense into him was Hiruzen and even that didn't work.

It would take a real miracle to change Orochimaru. He seems completely fixated in what he wants.

The point of Naruto is that everyone has good in them. Sure, Oro was a good guy at one point, but it would take something really drastic to change him.

Maybe when he's defeated he'll reflect on everything, realizing his wrongs just before he dies, but I highly doubt he'll end up fighting for good in the story. That wouldn't be right.
