I'm wondering if Orochimaru might still be alive. I say this because in Kabutos memories Orochimaru looks like a reflection in water. one frame in particular looks like a mix of the two.

Who is This! Kabuto's caretaker turns out to be Orochimaru in Kabuto's memories. Not only that but he looks like a reflection in water and at one point looks like kabuto himself. I think it makes perfect sense that Orochimaru is Kabuto.

Hell are you talking about? Orochimaru and his consciousness is sealed in Totsuukas sake jar.

No just no. It is an allusion to how Kabuto strives to be like Orochi in the future.

How about Genjustsu, doesn't that just explain away is his death in one word? Kabuto has his powers and doesn't remember who he is and suddenly you see Orochimaru in Kabuto's memories as a reflection. In fact if you've watched his death you can see that he died in a Genjutsu.

I believe Oro has contemplated every situation possible. So, that being said, I think he wanted Kabuto to gain the dragon sage ability that he could not obtain. So he most likely found a way to put part of himself in Kabuto so one day he will be taken over by Oro. I think once Kabuto is almost dead this will come forth. Plus, I think the scroll that Suigetsu found has proof of this.

He's chillin with Nagato in Totsuka Sword. They both speak About thier life stories and goals and dreams.

Nagato speaks first on how almost destroyed Konoha and Orochimaru is so pleased with Nagato on that note,

Then Orochimaru explains how he basically took Sasuke away from Naruto. Thus leading Nagato and Oro bumping heads and constantly fighting within thier chasm.
