I've seen many threads about how did Orochimaru get revived while being sealed by the sword of totsuka?
Well I've got a explanation, let's start with knowing what Orochimaru's curse marks are mainly used for.
When Orochimaru puts a curse mark on somebody it gives the target both a part of Orochimaru ( in Anko's case it was his senjutsu) and a chakra boost, I think what Kishi means with those curse marks are that they're similar to Lord Voldemort's horcruxes (Parts of a soul inside objects/persons which makes the person immortal).
Orochimaru has never died in the narutoseries or manga, he's just been absorbed and suppressed by Sasuke and later a part of Orochimaru was sealed by the sword of totsuka.
