Orochimaru. If push comes to shove Immortality Jutsu. Also Edo Tensei, Manda, giant snakes, and Hydra. Sage Mode takes too long for Jiraiya to get into, so Orochimaru can just keep bombarding him with snakes and Manda if he tries it.

Difficult to tell, these 2 by far were the stronger sannins.... IMO Orochimaru as he had knowledge of more jutsu and had some forbidden techs, although jiraiya was a master in espionage... and strategy.. ugh... no idea... equal.. both equal i change my opinion both equal

I don't think the OP intended for it to be a VS fight..

Overall, Jiraiya's much more useful and versatile and the much better shinobi. If they were in a VS fight then Jiraiya would win, but the point of the thread if I'm correct is who is overall the better ninja. Orochimaru si amazingly versatile as well although Jiraiya easily takes the cake.

Jariya SM>/=oro (I say this because shore jariya becomes stronger and faster but he was never fast to begin with while oro in a sicken state was able to keep up attack for attack with 4tailsnaruto also physical attacks Dnt work on oro and jariya Dnt have genjutsu so what now I think oro could hold his own with jman in sage mode but jariya would prob win in the end)
Hydra mode oro >>>>>> jman sage mode (jariya has nothing that can stop this he destroys heads they keep regenerating and release deadly poisen in air even itachi couldn't kill this thing the most he could do was seal it because his Susanno was being overpowered unfortinally jariya doesn't have sword of toswaka)

Damn, this is a hard choice. Oro has lots of forbidden techs and the hydra, Jman has SM a shit loads of frogs to summon, swamp of the underworld, frog song...

Even the Uchiha brothers couldn't avoid Tayuya's sound genjutsu, showing the effectiveness of Audio techniques. The had to genjutsu themselves out of it. If Jiraiya catches Orochimaru in his, like he did to Pein, he'll just slice off his head. You say he 'taught' Tayuya that particular genjutsu, but it is different from Ma and Pa's one. Moreover, you can't then assume he may have ways to escape it, because he has not shown that feat. As I said, this is just one scenario and i'm not going into detail right now.

Imo he can break from sound genjutsu..he had a sound genjutsu user in the sound fiveso he might have made a jutsu against those kind of genjutsu..is only my opinion im not 100% but is possible
