Orochimaru may no longer be evil

I'm starting to think Orochimaru will no longer play a villain role, and I may not be the only one after reading the last chapter. He's no longer acting like he used to, at all. He used to be arrogant, maniac, and always had an evil smile and evil plans.

Edit : remember he also compliments Sasuke for thinking on his own, which sounds odd coming from such a selfish and manipulative character :

Those are his actual thoughts. He's not saying that openly, while having evil plans behind. He sounds very calm (and his expressions also have him look very calm and passive), accepted to help Sasuke, and didn't just go all maniac and kill Kabuto for stealing his powers.

He's actually genuinely thinking about Sasuke's well-being without necessarily trying to get a profit out of it.

Something may have happened while he was sealed, that made him change this much. He was hearing Itachi's speech to Kabuto after all, and may have been affected by it in some way.

Do you think Orochimaru will have some sort of change of heart, or at least give up on gaining more knowledge?

I wouldn't say that Oro had ever been truly evil. However, he still does have bad intentions. He still wants possession of Sasuke's body:

If Orochimaru turns good, that would be kinda like "I killed the Third, used a abomination on the First and Second, attempted to crush the leaf, tormented countless people but now i wanna be a good boy"

I would ignore Oro from that point on

Personally, I don't think Oro was "evil", more slightly twisted to gain power because he wanted to stop wars since his parents where killed in one(?). Basiclly along the road to making himself stronger he lost his way.

He wasn't thinking about himself when he said that. That's the whole thing about it. He is genuinely thinking about someone else's well being (Sasuke).

no one in naruto-verse is necesarily evil, just motivated by their own personal ambitions, oro's ambition doesnt require him to be a ruthless snake man at the moment so he probably seems more lax than before
