Oh yes, that gave some confusion, unfortunatley when u are making a comic you dont have enough screentime to explain many of the things that happen storywise offscreen, the trick was that Sasuke needed to escape the longrange jutsu from Deidara, so he used a summoning jutsu which is in a way a spacetimejutsu to hide inside Manda, while the giant snake travelled through spacetime, however mandara took the blow and died.
Manda was trying to get away from the explosion and summoned himself away to a different space.
