Orochimaru is not immortal. If you don't give him a body he will die just like the rest of the world. He can also get caught in Infinite Tsuky which renders him dead after the tree transforms him in to WZetsu. If Kaguya destroys the world Orochimaru has no chance of surviving in Space.

Also, Kakuzu he is not immortal also. If he would get new hearts he will live forever as long as there are humans on the planet.

The only immortal in Naruto verse is Hidan who got blown up to pieces and still lives underneath the ground he even survives in space.

He's immortal through technicalities.

Each curse mark contains part of his chakra which in turn can become another Orochimaru. There were entire prison camps that had curse marked warriors. Thus oro lives on as long as they live on.

Lets not forget that Orochimaru body transfers allowed him to gain all access to the other person KKG, abilities and powers.

I understand Orochimaru needs to transfer body, its my bad I didn't explain properly.

Orochimaru doesn't need to steal someone to transfer body because Orochimaru can just create as many Zetsu. When Orochimaru body starts rejecting him, he has a unlimited numbers of Zetsu he can body transfer.

Orochimaru can make Zetsu clones to experiment, to transfer body when his body fails.

Although I wonder what happens when Orochimaru doesn't steal someone body, we saw in Sasuke vs Orochmaru battle that his true form is a snake.

Had they been given the chance to develop I could see Boruto and Sarada surpassing Orochimaru when they got older (SM/MS). Not to mention, someone would have to receive Kurama after Nardo dies and there's the possibility of Sasuke's Rinnegan being preserved to hand down to someone else too.

Not that it matters as the series is over so we'll never know.Plus I don't think Orochimaru wouldve become hostile again anyway.
