Orochimaru is by far the most twisted character in this manga. Going as far as to take pleasure in injecting infants with chemicals that made their bodies explode on his face. He killed thousands of adults and children in his forbidden pursuits, he manipulated children even made them fight to the death to determine his new host. He's beyond evil, he had literally no sense of morality whatsoever, he's like a machine without a consciousness that just does sick shit because it gets him closer to becoming whatever he seems to become.
But then there's the possibility which most people figured, Kishimoto is just a bad writer and forgot that Orochimaru was a pure evil mother****er and decided to pretend him and Kabuto could get tnjed simultaneously by Itachi's technique. Well after Gaiden I think that's highly unlikely, for an obvious reason.
Orochimaru isn't in his previous body, he has taken the body of a young female and this is why he looks different, obviously. If he's so good he wouldn't have continued to use innocent lives to prolong his life span, and if he used some new technique they would have made note of it because otherwise it's too damn misleading. Thing is he's at it again in the Boruto movie, why the **** would Anko not warn the others that he's not to be trusted is beyond me because literally he's given no good reason for people to trust him.
