Orochimaru is a confirmed sage.

So I did some digging and found out that the answer to this dusty old debate has been right under our noses the entire time. Orochimaru himself told us years ago that he himself is a sage, I just can’t believe no one ever noticed.

Orochimaru literally said “My senjutsu chakra was poured into this curse mark”

Meaning he has senjutsu and can control it

He’s a sage, albeit imperfect

Fricking finally someone that has common sense I mean I have always thought that he had sage like duhhhhh. And also it's Orochimaru so of course he has it.

That senjutsu is derived from an alteration of the chakra that Juugo's clan has. It's not senjutsu formed from Orochimaru using Sage Mode.

I don't get your point? Does that mean that anyone that uses senjutsu is a sage? If so, then I have no qualms of that. A bit dumb though since that makes everyone even Mitsuki a sage.

If not, then I disagree. He has to have his own affinity to be a sage and since he contracted and learnt from the snake sage, it means that he cannot be the sage. The best candidate is Kabuuto (I don't think there was a dragon sage and he created it by perfecting/tweaking Orochimaru's snake sage if I remember correctly).

As far as we are concerned, the sages are tree, aliens (6 paths), snake, dragon, slug, toad.

Senjutsu is still senjutsu. It’s his own and he has enough of a mastery over it to turn into the hydra which uses the white snake sage’s power to transform.

I think he had sage chakra just like cursed seal from Sasuke but as Orochimaru stated he lacked good body to be a sage - nice thread btw
