I have read a good theory about orochimaru and why he won't be affected by the IT.
It makes very much sense, the fact that he has taken over a white zetsu body should make him immune to IT.

So we don't know what his real goals are, he seemed to still wanting sasukes body

But he needs more strength, maybe he is able to get some power of the tree he's connected with at the moment.
After he free himself it would be epic if he turns evil again and goes against the edo hokages, which i don't see getting to the place where kaguya gets sealed,
i think hagoromo will give them the mission to free everyone with his spiritual help, maybe giving minato his arms back,
but if orochimaru attacks them it would be cool if he has prepared 3 edos:

danzo ( he helped him giving him hasiramas cells, he could have taken a bit of danzos dna when he experimented with him)
Jiraya ( when jiraya fought him last time he could have taken blood from j man )

Orochimarus intention could also be collecting the corpse from the tree to take them with him and experiments with them or sth like that.
Would be nice if Oro decides to go against all and turns evil.

Since he was still able to go into sage mode & Orochimaru, sucked out his chakra from kabuto, it would be safe to say that they both shielded themselves from IT using their snake eyes.
