Hiruzen would have killed his ass if he didn't resurrect Hashirama and Tobirama to take him on. Especially if Hiruzen was younger Orochimaru would definately be dead. Orochimaru couldn't beat ANY of the Kages in a fight.The only reason he could do that to Tobirama is because he was under Edo Tensi...with SENJU DNA.

Even with this Hashirama was moving around freely and he had to exert himself to stop Tobirama leaving. You say Orochimaru would chop his head of from a surpise attack? WTF kind of weak ass ninja do you think the 'God of Shinobi' is? No he's not IMMUNE to death, he just left himself in other peoples bodies like a Horcrux from Harry Potter. Anko was most likely the last person he implanted himself he with the cursed seal. It's not like he just springs out of everywhere.

Orochimaru outside Edo Tensei has very limited offensive capabilities. His bread and butter is his ability to escape death. He has incredible endurance but his skin shedding won't save him forever, eventually he will runout of chakra. Ways to be him is either to outlast him like KN4 vs Oro, or incapacitate him. Shodai has both options, Nidaime I'm not sure if he's got any sealing techniques but he probably has great stamina and bringer of darkness. Hiruzen vs Oro rematch can go either way, he lost focus when Oro summoned the 1st and 2nd. Minato has a good chance, Oro would have a hard time catching Minato. His summon can be countered by Minato's contract seal and if he does it will turn the tides on Minato's favor.

If he's older then he has a better understanding of jutsu than at 40 years of age, even if his physical attacks are weaker.

Orochimarun is actually more overhyped than Hiruzen

well considering his Zetsu body, he'll be able to perform wood release, snakes, spores, multiple cloning, etc. Having Zetsu body have already improved his ability to master Edo, so this isn't as far-fetched as people are making it.
