Orochimaru conquered Land of Sound back in the days?

Gotta give Orochimaru credit. He conquered Land of Sound back in the days and started a personal hidden village known as Otogakure. Yeah, I know the purpose of the village was to collect random ninjas and study them. But still though, Gotta acknowledge him.

No wonder he was able to call out the 2nd hokage on his bullshit political agenda. Orochimaru know how to run a village. Treat the weak like slaves and grant freedom to the the top strong shinobi. XD Many shinobi joined his village to not deal with the 5 nations. A true outer heaven!

He probably put his village on the map after this war since he is the one that summoned the 4 hokages. Kabuto probably opened up an orphan home there too.

There never existed any land of sound. Orochimaru's hidden sound village is located in the land of rice paddies.

And it wasn't a proper village, the daimo of the land of rice paddies probably didn't even know of its existence.

Given the above, it is unknown whether orochimaru conquered anything at all

That's official? Well borderlines aren't ever brought up or made important during the series as so much of the universe is just empty landmass (forests, mountains, deserts) with no civilisation. Strict borderlines aren't really a NV thing when the world is constantly at war and everyones so spaced out

A matter of opinion but the headbands are only done in the style of a village due to Oro's Hokage rejection complex to me. The Chunnin Exams are purposely open to anybody who wants to participate, like a sport world cup- to promote good intentions between nations. The henchmen were clearly prisoners who survived prison battles like these cuties.

Anyway, to be a village you need civilians and people actually living there. Calling The Sound village a civilisation is like calling Alcatraz island it's own country. I wish they'd honestly been more than a couple hideouts and prisons but Shippuden never really delivered on that one sadly :/
