Orochimaru been nerfed since 2004

So it's understandable why so many of you don't understand his true power. When Orochimaru got nerfed many of you guy's only thoughts were whether or not mom packed the animal crackers for lunch that day.

Cool. I understand.

So today you will learn Orochimaru has been nerfed for years. After Orochimaru got his arms sealed he couldn't use his full potential anymore.

Orochimaru vs Sannin: Orochimaru had no arms and can't use jutsu.
Orochimaru vs Naruto: Orochimaru had new arms, but not his own. Couldn't use his best jutsu.
Orochimaru vs Sasuke: Orochimaru body was rejecting him and he couldn't fight.
Orochimaru vs Itachi: Orochimaru popped out when Sasuke ran out of chakra but he was extremely weakened and couldn't use jutsu.

This is a form of writing authors use when they've made someone so powerful they keep giving them the short end of the stick so the opposition stands a chance.

Orochimaru was always nerfed by something out his his control. We've only seen a full powered Orochimaru once and when we did, he killed two Kages and brought the destruction of two of the great hidden villages. It's no wonder he's been nerfed for so long.

Orochimaru was treated like shit throughout the manga tbh, I wish he had more badass moments I mean he taught Sasuke how to use his sword so it would've been epic to see them duel instead of getting one shot by genjutsu.

Wasted potential, I always viewed the relationship of Robin and Slade from Teen Titans as what Sasuke and Orochimaru's could've been.....

He was mistreated in the sense that he was scrapped away almost immediately in Shippuden where he lacked the opportunity to display feats with P2 Power Scaling. His only opportunity to battle was against KN4 Naruto when he was crippled and Itachi who was conspicuously superior and made him look like a joke which was contemptuous writing honestly. Had he been given the opportunity to battle someone at such a high level such as Jiraiya or Kisame, it would've been far more satisfying for Orochimaru as a character.

Exactly. Even when restricted he has incredible feats.

Fought two Sannin with no arms or jutsu. Literally. There's no one else in the series who could do that.

He fought V2 Jin Naruto with virtually no jutsu. Naruto Gai Kakashi and Bee needed Bijuu powers, Sharingan, 6 Gate to do so.

Orochimaru is a real beast that's why people like to lowball him and always restrict him in versus matchups.

Even though Madara, Itachi and Sasuke could each completely annihilate Orochimaru to the point of insult; i still think Oro was the best villain for the series.

I actually believe Orochimaru was at his best against Itachi, but Kishimoto simply exacerbated the issue by forcing Orochimaru to imprudently battle against Itachi even though Kishimoto knew that Orochimaru was outclassed. He should've simply waited and enabled Orochimaru to battle SM Jiraiya, Kisame, or even Sasori honestly. Even Deidara would've been appropriate since he was pertinacious about battling Orochimaru.

he wasn't nerfed when itachi lobbed his arm off.

I remember this happening when Orofodder wasnt "nerfed".

Orofodder tries to launch a sneak attack against kid Itachi.
kid Itachi uses a beginner level sharingan genjutsu and says: "Orofodder, against these eyes you are a fodder."
Orofodder doesnt understand that and tries to use a jutsu.
kid Itachi neg diffs him with a kunai.

Orofodder fights against Hiruzen with ET. It is clearly stated that the weakest hokage in history could simply neg diff Orofodder if he wasnt older than my grandpa and even then he is able to seal edo hokages plus oro's arms. He probably would crush the fodder even in his old age if he didnt feel sad about fighting with his former student.

And in sannin fight, Jiraiya was taken care of by Tsunade, Tsunade didnt battle for a long time. Oro was not the only one who had a handicap. Plus Jiraiya was nerfed so much that he didnt even summon Ma and Pa when he had the chance. I think he did not want to bother them for a fodder like Orofodder.

Minato who is the student of his former teammate was chosen HOKAGE despite his young age instead of Orofodder. Even Naruto couldnt become hokage despite the power level between him and Kakashi. This clearly states the power difference between a man who won a war himself and a man who got neg diffed by kid Itachi

Well, Kishimoto obviously picked Itachi as a 'silent hero' of the manga, so anyone who faced him had to lose for the sake of plot. Orochimaru himself said that he wasn't expecting Itachi's Sharingan to be that powerful. That was the reason he was so reckless and got pretty much neg diffed.

But yeah, Orochimaru should've gotten a chance to go all out after power scaling. Sadly, we never saw anything even remotely close to all out Oro
