he set everything up, he alone made the move. Orochimaru is boss, he can con anyone and even do the bidding himself, thats the role of a villain.

i agree with the last line of that.."the role of a villain" not a badass.. where im fom whispering in ears and instigating are the actions of a b#tch not a badass. guess i was just raised different lol

maybe badass is not the best term to describe him, that fits pain and kisame better imo. But he certainly has the most menacing and evil vibe from all naruto's villians, he's the best villian and there have been a lot of great villians in naruto. He's an incredibly interesting character, and his foresight and planning is awesome. although he was trolled a lot in part 2, against itachi. especially the second time, I still can't believe that orochimaru didn't recognise the totsuka sword, which he had been searching for this whole life, until it started sealing him. but then, the lengths to which kishi goes to glorify itachi are incredible.

Badass=being Sannin, ROOT and akastuki. Having you own village, going to two separate villages and killing their Kages, haivng his own theme music, fighting two Sannin with no arms or justu, fighting 4-tails in a sick body, creating CM (curse mark), making shinobi shit themselves in his presence, etc.

all of those things you mentioned attribute to his genius tho... i mean yeah he pulled alot of strings behind the scenes but those arent the actions of a tough guy. and this battle with the sannins you keep bringing up please stop it... j-man was poisoned and granny t was so freaked out by blood (medical ninja scared of blood never made sense to me) she was useless for most of that fight. AAAAAND kabuto was right there to do the hand signs for all his jutsu..or did you miss the part where manda showed up anyways? so yes it is pretty cool that he faced them down even without his arms (altho if you ask me being immortal kind of takes the element of danger away) but its still not that badass

Killed 4th Kazekage he just has a calm demeanor BECAUSE he is such badass why can't you understand this. He can afford to take most situations with ease like Naruto with four tails because of said badassery.

He is one of the legenday Sannins and knows a lots of (hidden) jutsus, has connections to the root, killed 2 kages and created his own hidden village.

Orochimaru was a true villain, who did everything for himself. He wanted to learn all the jutsus to become basically unbeatable (due to him knowing every weakness behind each jutsu) he also wanted to become Hokage at one point. Not for the love of the village, but for the power the Hokage title held. He didn't care for other humans, killing others for the chance to use a jutsu. Manipulating people to work for him and experimenting on children, something that seems completely immoral, just to further widen his possibilities of his arsenal.

The list goes on and on, Orochimaru is probably my favourite villain, does that mean I don't like the others? Of course not, I just tend to lean towards Orochimaru more when I discuss the necessities of a villain.

i respect everything hes done from a VILLAIN standpoint. i really dont want people to misunderstand that. i just dont see him as a tough guy. like hidan. hes my favorite character hands down. but to me hes not a badass. why? because theres no element of danger in it for him. if you know you cant die how tough of you is it to get stabbed a couple of times?
