Orochimaru obviously had a chance if he wanted to to get the Sharingan. What's so special about having an Uchiha body if you can just get the sharingan. He could of done some experiments on Sasuke when he was weaker to get the Uchiha DNA. Okay so here is how orochimaru could simply get sharingan. Remember how Danzo had an arm full of them why didn't he just attempt to over power him and take them and implant it into himself. A follow up is what happened to that Lab of Sharingan Obito had. Zetsu records everything also wouldn't he now that he body swapped with a Zetsu now know where that lab is and just implant it so there would be absolutely no need for Sasukes body. Another thing to remember is that he is not "Powerful enough yet to over power sasuke" Now with High concentration of Senju DNA and Mokuton wouldn't he be even more stronger than he was before. Also as we saw with the Obito story Zetsu's Mokuton is not as crazy powerful as Hashirama, but wouldn't that put his Mokuton on level with Obito because Obito is part Zetsu. Based on this Orochimaru has easily gotten a huge power up. Anyways back to the topic. Orochimaru has a lot of opportunities to get sharingan he no longer is solely dependant on getting sasukes body it would be a huge plus but it is not required. Also he could get a 3 toemoe sharingan from the lab and kill somebody he was close to. -Kabuto- Which he probably would have no problem with he has lost almost ALL of his Humanity he would be fine with that and get MS and just progress as the stories main and final ending villain.
