I don't think orochimaru could go toe to toe with A ALIVE Madara. Madara is the best character we have SEEN so far. Not the best in naruverse. But best so far. Well, if you don't count Madaras Genjutsu, Oro could go toe to toe with Madara. Beat him? It may be a stretch but it's possible. It'd probably be tough deciding if Perfect Susanoo or Eight Branches is superior, other than that. Orochimaru has a counter/resistance for basically everything else.
