Opinions on upcoming Ant-Man movie?

Hi. I saw a lot of discussions about this movie and how it should not be filmed, waste of time, MC is horrible, there are better movies to film and expand other characters/things of Marvel Universe etc. People seem to hate the upcoming movie for these main reasons:

-Movie being about an abuser (well his disciple) who hit his wife in orginal comic
-There can be other movies to film which people are curious about like a Black Widow movie
-Relevant to point before this one; people feeling there is a lot of underrepresentation as most mains in movies have straight white male MCs who already make up 95% of MCs
-Concept and sound of Ant-Man is so damn ****ing stupid to many people

What is your opinion on this upcoming movie? Do you think it should not be made for several reasons or just look forward to the movie? Would it be better if there was a Black Widow movie (everybody makes this comparasion so i am curious)?

I'm pretty much fine with most superhero movies so no complaints here. I think the issue is just as you say, people think the concept is stupid and are curious in other people. People are just sleeping on Ant-Man, they probably haven't heard much about him. I think they later plan on tying in Ant-Man with the Avengers universe so I'm all for it. I think it's going to be good.

I'm looking forward to it, but I look forward to every Marvel movie.
It looks pretty cheesy sure, but that adds to the charm in my opinion, and the costume designs for Antman and especially Yellow Jacket are awesome.

The premise for an ant man exclusive movie is a little whack not many "blockbuster powers" a lot of people have come to expect from marvel movies. And they asked Paul Rudd? He is always a comedy role. I just don't see it......the only thing i like is that they got michael douglas.
