[Discussion] Opinions on piercings and tattoos

So as the title says what do you think of these body modifications?

Some people do take it overboard ...but it's their body & we shouldn't judge/ because of how they look , I plan on getting some Tattoos later in life , no biggie .

Yeah it's their bodies so they can do what they want... But when they take it over board then it's rather strange.I have a smiley and plan to get a few more piercings

It is their body, they can do what they wish. However in my personal judgment I think that certain types or too many of piercings/tatoos can make a person look unpleasant to the eye. I personally don't believe I will ever get a tatoo or piercing, but as long as it is minimal tatoos/piercings don't really bother me when I look at someone. Depending on the piercing or tatoo it can even make a person look sexier. Overall I would say tatoos are generally an eye sore to me, with rare exceptions. Piercings aren't generally an eye sore unless the amount/size is absurd or the piercing is in an extremely odd place

Yeah true say man.I'm all foe these type of modifications but when someone has loads of piercings/tattoos it becomes a sour sight to see.

But those people that do go overboard really can't complain when people look at them funny or get denied a job because of it. Yeah, they shouldn't be judged, but they will be, and that's the sad part.

Put it in short-terms: Don't say '**** tha pohlice, str8 from the underground' or 'yolo' when you're about to permanently modify your body, actually give it some thought before hand.

I'd never do it though.

These should be done by professionals, that is for sure. Otherwise you can catch diseases and/or get something done terribly, like those tattoo fails you might see on the Internet.

As to piercings, well I wear three earrings, but I don't really want anything else. I'm quite picky when it comes to jewelery (I only wear silver and I barely come across things I like), so I simply doubt I'd ever come up with a good idea for a piece of it somewhere else on my face.

To anyone else, I don't mind when people do it, they just should always keep in mind that they may end up regretting those things later, like couple tattoos or piercings all over their faces (or bodies). I've been planning to get a tattoo for six years, I was holding back to make sure this wish wouldn't go away, that it wasn't some thing I would have done on impulse.

I remember back at school some girls in my class got their entire ears pierced - they kept running off during breaks to I don't even know where to get one ear stud after another. I wonder if they regret it now.

I have one in my ear (it was done when i was months old )


I just dont get why people wants a permanent tattoo ,When they can have temporary One .

1. First and foremost, I don't care what you do with your body. It's your body.
2. That being said, don't ***** and moan to me (or the general public) that you're somehow more artistic and wholesome than I am because "your body is a work of art." I'm a music composition major, doesn't get much more artistic and creative than that.
3. That also being said, don't get mad when I call you a retard because you think you're going to "change the business world" by destroying the stereotypes associated with bodily modifications in the white collar workplace. Quite simply, you will not.

Lastly, I don't particularly find bodily modifications attractive in women. That's just my taste.

I have 4 tattoo's now and I plan on getting A LOT more. So yes I like tattoo's, however what I don't like are the people that just step in with no thought and say yeah I guess I'll get a tattoo of that and could care less what it is. Tattoo's should be something that going into you expect to have for your life and shouldn't ever have to feel embarrassed about.

As far as piercing's I see nothing wrong with them as long as you're not taking an hour or so to get through a metal detector.

And I agree with others that if you get a tattoo that causes you to miss out on opportunities then you have only yourself to blame.

I don't like piercings much, like just 1-3 are alright . But its the person's body and they can do whatever they like . Ironically i liked Yahiko's look as Deva path with all those piercings a lot but i think that's just coz it was an anime character . XD
I don't mind tattoos but some people have just too many tattoos to look good

Yes, it was. It's been over a month since then so naturally it's all healed now.

Speaking of "clean skin", well, I already have an ugly scar/burn on my leg, what do I have to lose?
