As I see you on the field infront of me,I release a wawe of chakra into your brain making you think you are in a hole up to your sholders and then butterflies start flying around you untill they explode.

As I used this as a diversion to buy me some time I I stomp my foot onto the ground to make a tunnel that starts infront of me and ends infront of you.I then breath out a large amount of fire into the tunnel and it goes towards you,on the way to you it mixes with the earth and turns into lava.I then make a hand seal and make the lava erupt out of the end of the tunnel that is infront of you,engulfing you in it.

Don't worry, let's enjoy this a bit. Just take it easy, bro. Also, Exploding Flame Crater is long range ONLY, because it is an explosion, it would harm you if you were too close, and you stated we were mid. Just take note of that.

Shikamaru found himself in one of those unexpected situations once more - it seemed to happen more often now. It's not like he disliked it, but sometimes, some things were just rather trivial. Of course, he'd prefer to laze it out at home, but not these days. Never these days. Tension was sky high and he wouldn't get anywhere by simply staring at the clouds.
His opponent possessed a kind of odd mask, and he shrugged it off, seeing much worse - after all, it was Kakashi-sensei who preferred to walk around Konoha all day with only about an inch of his face exposed.
However, there was no hesitation within his enemy - one second Shikamaru found himself staring curiously at him, then the view vanished, only to be replaced by fluttering butterflies and deep earth.
Shoot.
Having taught this technique many times before, Shikamaru immediately suspected the significance of it - he took several cautious backs, trying to widen the distance between the butterflies and himself while drawing out a kunai to slice a small, but painful cut on his arm. He closed his eyes, focusing on the pain, drawing himself out of the illusion. But as he snapped back to reality, only then seeing the paper bombs, the earth below him began to rumble - he saw his opponent stomp the ground, creating a tunnel that spread from his opponent's feet towards him.
Fire. Bombs...water.

(Suiton: Bakusui Shōha) - Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave

Description: The user performs the snake hand seal and creates a large volume of water from their mouth spilling it toward the ground and lifting them up into the air. The user can also ride the wave, allowing him to travel at high speeds and attacking the enemy. The user can create a small ocean worth of water even in barren conditions and can use the water for additional techniques.

He snapped to his instincts, putting together his hands, manipulating the chakra within his chest to flow like the waves of the sea - the pressure built itself up rather quickly, and Shikamaru released it upon the ground, the sheer force of it propelling him into the air, blowing away the paper bombs and rendering the would-be fire explosion useless.
Water cascaded across the battle, filing into the trees, spreading across the grass - it created a small lake on the battlefield.
Shikamaru landed softly upon the water, noting that the pressure of the water had put him at a long range with his opponent.
However, his enemy did not hesitate - as he formed the Tiger seal, creating two clones, Shikamaru did the same.

(Kage Bunshin no Jutsu) - Shadow Clone Technique

Description: The Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. Upon impact, the clone can be dispersed.

He created two clones while his opponent created only one. They both held the same impassive gaze as his own and he decided to name them Yin and Yang.
It was only then did Shikamaru notice the haze of tiny inspects flying up from his opponent - it hit him who his opponent might have originated from.
Bugs...bugs...Aburame Clan.
His eyes narrowed as he tossed down a smoke bomb, now rather wary. Yin, his clone, flashed through several hand signs, executing one of his favorite techniques.

(Suiton: Ukojizai no Jutsu) - Water Style: Rain Tiger at Will Technique

Description: A perception ninjutsu, allowing one to freely manipulate rain infused with the user's own chakra. The rain falls from rain clouds, formed with the users own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to the users senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

Shikamaru's shadow dimmed, then vanished before him as the sun disappeared from the sky only to be replaced by gloomy clouds. The Nara crouched down on his knees, contemplating his next step, spinning a kunai within his hand. His senses were focused - his body, tense. Concentration was at hand.

As Torune sees you landing on the water and that you are making two shadow clones,and that smoke started spreading around the battlefield,Torune sends orders to his bugs in the air,he orders them to make 5 huge wawes and to rush to your position and hit you.

Then Torune notices the rain and thinks to himself how a moment ago the sun was shiining so he tels to himself it must have been creted by his oponent,as he has seen this jutsu about 7 times he knows he needs to go underground to avoid it but also that going underground is to risky against an oponent like that,so instead he send his clone undergroun.And the clone starts traveling to short range of you,to your right.

Torune feels he can't just saty here doing nothing while his bugs and clone do all the work so he takes alot of shuriken and kunai and focus his chakra into them to make them hover.Then he releases them all at once towards your last seen locaation and they travell much faster then they would fly if they were thrown normaly.
